When I got what looked like a bill for a PEOPLE subscription, I wrote out a check for $159.95 and paid the bill on 3/21/18. After I mailed the payment, I realized that I had already paid PEOPLE directly. I sent a letter to PPS to cancel on 3/23/18 and told them why. According to their "bill" you get 100% of your money back if notification is immediate. My check was cashed on 3/29/18. I wrote another letter on 5/12/18 asking for a refund. I have heard nothing and now know it was a scam!
Dear Bette,
We apologize for clearly failing short of expectations.
PPS is a partner with the vast majority of magazine publishers, including People. We work directly publishers and to process magazine subscriptions for consumers throughout the US.
When we receive an order from a customer we transmit it to the publishers’ fulfillment centers.
In an attempt to resolve this matter and process your refund, when looking through our system, I was unable to find your information using the last name *** and the zip code ***. This may explain why your refund was never initially processed.
If you would kindly mail us a letter with your specific details, we will ensure your refund gets processed.
Regards
Dear Bette,
After further investation, I was able to locate your account. It looks like a refund was processed on 03/04/2019.

My parents ***. I am trying to get all their business in order. They are receiving multiple magazines including duplicate from this publishing house. There seems to be no way to cancel any of them. One is paid out to 2019 and they are unable to enjoy them and the delivery address is not longer theirs to use. The need to be stopped and the remaining months need to be refunded to them
We are unable to located a customer under the information provided. Please let us know if there is another name / address that we can research.Thank you.Lori BPublishers Partnership Services
This scam artist sent me two bills for magazine subscription renewals, one of which is not due any time soon and the other I do not have a current subscription for. It took me a while to notice the pink or orange small text "This is an offer from an independent company, not a bill." It looks exactly like magazine subscription renewal bills. Don't fall for it.
Dear Rebecca,
Thank you for your email.
As you referenced with your review, we do indicate on both the front of the offer in bold red lettering and on the back with a detailed description of the offer that what you are receiving is not a bill and in fact just an offer. Per industry standard, we do try to keep up with consistent market trends which is why you noticed the similarity.
For your convenience, we have removed your information from our database and all future mailings.

PPS sent an invoice for $59.95 implying they represented *** Magazine. They were sent a check for $29.98 which they negoiated. They sent another invoice for the balance of $29.97. A telephone check with the Customer Service Department of *** in ***, *** revealed that PPS had no connection with *** and was not authorized to represent them.
Ms.,We are in receipt of your complaint to the Revdex.com. As indicated on the order form, we are a third party independent agent, as indicated on the order form you received and submitted to us. The cost for *** magazine for 2 years is $59.95 and we have received your partial payment for $29.98, check# *** on 5/15/18. Your order cleared the clearinghouse on 5/29/18. Delivery of your order takes 6-12 weeks. We can modify your order to make it for one year if you would prefer. We can also issue you a refund, however, there is a $9.00 cancellation fee. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.Thank you.
On March 30 I responded to an ad for people magazine. I sent $79.98 for 6 months. The check was cashed. I never recd the magazine. On 5/7 I read another invoice for the remaining portion. I thought I had to pay in full before it would start. I sent another check ( I made this one out to people ). Yesterday I recd the second check back with a form showing me how to make the check out correctly to PPS. I called and you have to sent your question in writing. I googled PPS and saw numerous complaints about this company. I called my local Revdex.com and they referred me to your agency. I called and was advised to file complaint on line. I would like to receive my money back. I am 73 years old, and from what I have read, they are targeting the elderly. I have copy of check front and back that was cashed.
Ms. ***,We are in receipt of your complaint to the Revdex.com as well as your check for $79.98 #*** received on 4/12/18. Your order was processed at the clearinghouse on 4/23/18 and you should be receiving it by now. Please let us know if that is not the case.
Revdex.com:
I have recd the magazine. I called *** and they told me that money was sent by ***. They recd the payment form PPS 6/7/18. Their number is 1-***. I am satisified now that this has been resolved. I do not think I would have the subscription, if I had not filed a complaint with the *** in Wyoming and Revdex.com. Thank You so much for helping me with this matter.
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This company sent what looks like a renewal of a magazine I subscribe to that doesn't expire until next year. They make it sound like it is expiring now. They are a scam operation that needs to be stopped.

This business sent us a renewal notice. We thought it was for our current subscription which was due, but now found out that they have scammed us. Don't send any money to this business. They cashed our check and no product.

In an attempt to resolve this matter and process your refund, when looking through our system, I do show that we processed your payment on 4/16/18. Often times, publishers can take between 6- 10 weeks to process your order.
If for any reason you did not receive your order, please mail us a letter with your specific details, we will stand by our guarantee and ensure your refund gets processed.

This business mails out what on the surface appears to be a bill for magazine subscriptions. Truly deceptive business practice. A D+ Revdex.com rating and having no physical address should be signals for “Customer Be Aware.”

It is great to have someone looking out for the public and trust you are a vigilant consumer who spends their time perpetually policing offers for the benefit of others.
With such a common last name, I was unable to find your specific information in our system and would like to remove you from future mailings. If you would kindly mail us your information, I will see to it that this takes place.

scam, my girlfriend sent them a check not knowing it was a scam and they deposited it and nothing has arrived. I am trying to find a way to get ahold of them but I guess it is time to call the police.
Dear Rachel,
Thank you for your email.
We completely understand why you would be concerned.

In the unlikely event, your girlfriend did not receive her subscription please send us a letter detailing the specifics and we will stand by our guarantee and ensure she receives a full refund.

Received two attempts from PPS to trick me into starting a subscription by making the form look like a renewal. Yes, the form had a disclaimer, but in small print. The payment form was labeled "NOTICE OF CONTINUATION / NEW ORDER OFFER". This is an abusive sales practice.

I already haveatwo year subscription.
Where did they get my info?
Ms.,We are in receipt of your correspondence to the Revdex.com. As a third party magazine subscription agency we purchase addresses from various mailing list houses so it is difficult to say how we received your address. However, we have removed you from the mailing list and apologize for any mail that may already have been sent.Thank you.
I receive an application to subscribe to *** magazine for a 1 yr. subscription for $159.95. I sent half the payment in March and the other half in April..I have not received any magazines to this date. I contacted *** magazine and they have no knowledge of this company. I tried calling them at *** and no answer. I contacted my bank and one check was cashed at *** and another was electronically cashed. *** magazine advised me to file a complaint . I hope you can help me resolve this matter or get me my $159.95 payment back.

I have been a subscriber to the *** magazine for several years. When it was time to renew, I sent a check for $89.95 on 2/11/18 to an address and a form that had been sent to me. My check number was *** and when I checked my bank statement, the check had been cashed. When two months went by, I had still not received my magazine. I called *** and they said they never got my check. I told them the address I sent it to and it was not the correct one. They told me that I had been scammed. I have received other bills of all sorts of magazines that I did not order. I tried calling the company and no one answered at the number given. They said all inquiries had to be made in writing. I do not think the addresses were always the same either. I had to pay the money again so I could continue getting my subscription. I would like to have my original $89.95 sent back to me, if you are able to find this group. I must have received invoices for at least 10 magazines and sent many back saying that I never ordered them and to stop sending them to me. Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely
Thank you for the information. As indicated on the order form, subscriptions take 6-12 weeks to process. Ms. order was processed on 3/5/18. Please let us know if you would like to be refunded or wait for the order.
Thank you.

I want my money refunded to me. Thank you. 5/12/18
We received at least three letters for different subscription packages to magazines that looked like bills. They do say in smaller writing at the bottom that this is an independent company and not a bill, but this is very deceptive formatting.
We have removed them from our mailing list. Thank you.
I receive multiple "invoices" from this company each month and it seems as if they are preying on the older community, since I live in a retirement home. Their mailing looks like an invoice for something I have already purchased, but is just a solicitation. When I called the number listed on the "invoice" to have them take me off of their mailing list, a recording stated that any requests must be submitted in writing. Terrible company!

This company targets my 89 year old mother by sending advertisements for magazine subscriptions that are designed to emulate an invoice.
Ms. has been removed from the mailing list. PPS provides an excellent choice of magazines and does not target the elderly. We apologize for the inconvenience. Should an offer cross in the mail please be assured Ms. has been removed from the mailing list.
Thank you.
I, too, received a mailing for "Notice of Continuation /New Order Offer. Everything about it looks like an invoice. I keep good records of my subscriptions and their expiration dates. When I investigated, I found that this was in fact the closest thing to a scam I could describe. Who know if sending the money would continue a subscription past the current expiration date. A discerning reader would see that the "fine print" ON THE BACK says that it is not a bill or invoice, but the practice is deceptive and unethical.
Dear Ernestine,
Thank you for your email.
It is great to read that you have sound accounting principles. Far too often people do not track their spending and/or record their purchases and often duplicate many of their efforts.

I received an offer in the mail(4/17/2018) from "PPS" Publishers Partnership Services regarding the renewal of my *** Magazine subscription. Fortunately I know that subscription was officially renewed and confirmed by ***. So I called *** Customer services (***) April 18, 2018 to ask about the validity of any affiliation with "PPS" and the reply is NO. "PPS" has no authority to renew subscription or collect money for ***.

We always encourage consumers to look out for their best interest and are glad you did. We work directly with the publishers and our partners to process magazine subscriptions for consumers throughout the US. When we receive an order from a customer we transmit it to the publishers’ fulfillment centers. We are partners with thousands of magazine publications.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of customer service individuals that you call in to speak with are not aware of the vast complexities involved in the publication network and/or are outsourced to other countries and would never have access to that information. Regardless, we are proud to have a strong network of publishers and have been authorized to provide subscriptions to virtually every publication in the industry,
For your convenience, we have removed your information from our database and all future mailings.

I paid 79.97 towards a *** magazine subscription the middle March. The check cleared on March 30th. I received an email from *** yesterday stating they we're discontinuing my subscription because I hadn't paid. I called them to tell them I paid the bill I was sent. They said they do not use Publisher Partnership Services and that I will not be receiving the magazine because I did not pay. This company took my money and never turned my subscription into *** magazine. I tried to call their number and all you get is a recorded person and cannot talk to anymore. Thank God *** sent me an email and I started looking into this or I would of sent another $79.00 to this company for nothing.
We are in receipt of Ms. complaint. Her check was received on 3/28/18 and was sent to the clearinghouse. As indicated on the order form "Please allow six to twelve weeks for your order to begin." If Ms. would like a refund, she will be assessed a $9.00 cancellation fee. Please advise.
Thank you.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find the information confusing. When I contacted *** and asked them if they had received my order from this company, they said they do not do business with this company. So I'd like to keep my order if I can have something in writing saying that by a certain date I will receive my magazine and if not I should get a credit. I dont understand why they are sitting on my money so long anyways. So, I will accept if I get something in writing stating when I shall receive my magazine and if it does not arrive then I will get a refund. Just still very shady to me why *** says they dont do business with them.
Regards
I tried responding via the Revdex.com website but was unable to.Regarding Ms.’s request to have something in writing for her order of People magazine, her order was placed 4/9/18. The normal delivery time to receive the magazine is between 6 and 12 weeks as indicated on the order form. If she has not received it by that time, we will provide a full refund as well as a one year subscription to her at no cost.Thank you.
