originated in January, 2016 and was placed with our office in May, 2016.  Our agent was contacting Mr. [redacted] in an attempt to verify his location information as we are required to send a letter by federal law. We are taking Mr. [redacted] at face value in his statement that he did not take out this loan.  We encourage him to contact his local authorities or another agency if he believes this loan was taken out in his name without his knowledge.  He should visit [redacted] for more information on how to take action if he believes his identity was stolen.  In any event, we have closed Mr. [redacted] account and it will not be re-sold.      As Mr. [redacted] account was closed, he should receive no further communication from us or anyone else regarding this account.  We encourage him to contact us if there are any issues or concerns. Lionstone was attempting to locate a consumer and Ms. [redacted] number inadvertently was dialed in

purpose of our call, unless and until
we are able to verify we have reached the consumer we were looking for. As stated above, Ms. [redacted]
number was dialed by mistake. There were 2 calls placed by accident to Ms. [redacted] number in our attempt
to locate a different consumer. At no time was Ms. [redacted] threatened or forced to do anything. Rather, there
were 2 calls placed in a location effort to find a different consumer. When Ms. [redacted] called into our office on
May 19, 2016 to inform us we have the incorrect number and threaten our representative with arrest, Ms.
[redacted] hung up prior to our representative explaining that Ms. [redacted] number would be removed from our
system.
Ms. [redacted] number has subsequently been removed from our system and she should not receive
any additional calls from our office.

I am rejecting this response because:
Over the last severalmonths I have been in conversation with them   The following is what has transpiredin conversation with [redacted] (the man who originally called about renewing our subscription for the Week magazine which was for our subscription and a gift subscription for our daughter.The two together was to cost $55.00 for a one year renewal.  Our previous subscription was good through April 2017.  Our daughter's was good through Dec. 2016.  As of last week, mydaughter has not received any magazines for January.  We of course will not know about our subscription until the current subscription expires at the end of April.Throughout January I was on the phone with [redacted] at least three times.  He told me a check wasin the mail and that it would be for $165.00 to cover the three additional charges of $55.00 each that Publishers Elite had charged to my credit card.  It never came.  I called back several timesand I got various excuses why I couldn't talk to him.  He wasn't in today.  He's in a meeting. etc.Then one time that I called I spoke to a woman [redacted].  She also told me the check was in the mail and she gave me a USPS tracking #[redacted].  When I tried to track it It just said "Status Not Available"  This woman [redacted] also told me that [redacted] had been suspended.When I tried to call her back she was not available.  On Jan. 26th I talked  to another female employee, she said that the policy was no refunds and that there was no check in the mail and that [redacted] had beensuspended over all of this.   Later [redacted] returned my call he apologized for what had happened, butsaid he could not change anything.  He also told me he had been suspended over it.I feel that these over charges should be reimbursed to us. Thank you,[redacted]and/or [redacted], but neither were available.

All calls to Ms. [redacted] and her daughter were done so in compliance with federal law. Our agents take great care not to disclose the purpose of our calls to any third party unless and until we are able to verify the consumer we are looking for.We reviewed the complaint with the agent that spoke with Ms. [redacted] daughter. A note has been placed in their file as we expect only the highest quality consumer care when speaking with consumers. We apologize for any discomfort or inconvenience Ms. [redacted] daughter felt in their conversation. We would like to note that Ms. [redacted] also filed a substantially similar complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to which we have also responded to.We will honor Ms. [redacted] desired resolution and cease contact with her or her daughter regarding this account unless she contacts us directly.Please contact the undersigned if we can be of any additional help in this matter.

Unfortunately, we are unable to speak to what took place between Ms. [redacted] and [redacted] when
she contacted them but can assure Ms. [redacted] that she is not being led astray. When her account came into
our office, we contacted her to verify the information that was contained in her account. While she states that it
is old information in her complaint, it is of note that this personal loan was taken out in 2010 and the
information attached to the account, may be reflected of that time. Ms. [redacted] did in fact verify her information
prior to disclosing the purpose of our call, where she immediately disputed that she ever took out the loan.
We have no intention of taking Ms. [redacted] to court as she indicates in her complaint, nor has that ever
been expressed. Our initial calls to her were in an attempt to verify her identity so we could mail the attached to
her as required by federal law.
We will cease contact with Ms. [redacted], unless she calls into our office, as her account remains unpaid.

The customer stated he contacted our company in August of 2017. However the order was placed in March of 2017, the customer called in after his final payment was made. Per our cancellation policy it does state:1.       CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to the PRE-PAID nature of...

these orders, you can cancel your recurring transactions at any time for a pro-rated subscription, but we do not offer refunds for payments already made.   The customer would have been told this on the recorded line and also in his Official Confirmation Letter that was mailed to his home. Please see attachments as the customer ordered GUNS and Farm & Ranch Living both for 5 year terms at competitive rate of $30/yr. The customer agreed to the magazines and terms and conditions. The attachment is a copy of the letter the customer received that also clearly states the cancellation policy. The customer even jokes with the sales associate about accidentally buying accidental life insurance. There was no dispute or hesitation.  Finally when the customer did call in to inquire about the order he stated to [redacted] that he needed the money to repair his truck. Which unfortunately does not constitute a refund per our policy.

We updated him regarding the above information for his account in our office. At that time, he stated that his wife had been paying on the account and asked for additional time to speak to her about it, which our representative respectfully granted. Shortly afterwards, we received a written cease and desist stating the information in Mr. [redacted]’s complaint about identity theft. At no time prior to the cease and desist and follow up complaint to your office were we informed about this or we would have gladly assisted Mr. [redacted] in any way possible.Our representative that spoke with Mr. [redacted] respectfully disagrees with his assessment of what took place and believes he has mischaracterized their conversation. However, the core of the complaint is that Mr. [redacted] has stated he and his wife were victims of identity fraud. We will take Mr. [redacted] at his word and his account has been closed and placed in dispute status due to identity fraud. I would love to take care of this customer.  Not only do I want to give them the subscriptions they paid for, but I also want to help them with the donation to Cooks Childrens.  However I cannot find any information in our system using the information provided by the customer.  If...

A fewrepresentatives did speak with Ms. [redacted] on October 13, 2016. We apologize if any representative from ouroffice was unprofessional with Ms. [redacted]. The representatives that Ms. [redacted] speaks of in her complaint,have been removed from her account, and have been sent for additional training on how to professionallycommunicate with consumers.Her account has since been place in the hands of our office manager. When Ms. [redacted] spoke with thatmanager, she was able to set up a payment arrangement that reflects her desired settlement.
