I called 1-107-266-6673 (not toll free-red flag indicator) and asked them why they are bidding to renew my Nat Geo magazine subscription for 5 times what I normally pay and he said "people are allowed to charge whatever they want". These guys or person is a crook and should be stopped. How many little old ladies are writing checks? How can one be overtly so dishonest? They want to charge me $59.95 to renew my subscription when I paid the publisher only $12 for the same.
Publishers Distribution Services is a scam--their mailings read "Notice of Renewal/New Order" and are intended to look like a bill. They are crooks--ignore any mail you receive or better yet report them to the Oregon Attorney General
BEWARE: These people send out notices to renew subscriptions for magazines - IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!! The price they are charging for the renewal should serve as the first warning. Fortunately I keep good records regarding my magazine subscriptions and the companies that should receive the money. People should always check with the magazine publisher before returning renewal notices.
I had just renewed my subscription through the magazine company so when I got their "bill" to renew, I was more than a little surprised. I checked the price and it was $20 more than my subscription renewal and for 30 less issues. The way the bill appears, I would classify this as fraud and I do not understand why they are allowed to continue to operate. Their bill is presented as a "NOTICE OF RENEWAL/NEW ORDER". It is no such thing. It is a solicitation and if someone is not careful, it appears to be real.
