Review: I opened an account in 2006 with a small deposit. They were called FedDirect Federal Credit Union but now they go by FedFinancial. I have since moved from the address listed on my account, but I had valid mail forwarding on my address and my phone number was correct on file. I have one hard copy of my account statement from 6/30/06 . I called them a few months ago to find the status of my account because I may be interested in using the credit union to secure an automotive loan. They had no record of my account after providing my SSN, Address, and telephone number on file. After being promised a call back, I heard nothing for several weeks.

Yesterday I called again to try to investigate where my money has gone. Today I got a call back saying my account was probably closed because it was withdrawing $5 a month until the balance was 0. I am certain I never would have opened an account knowing that there would be a monthly service fee. I actively avoid that for all of my other accounts. The policy itself or losing the money isn't the most concerning part of this fiasco, it is that they never contacted me by email, phone, or snail mail of the closure. I had a valid forwarding address on file with the USPS after I moved from that address, if my account was subject to a closure , I should have received some sort of notice and never did.

Now I am no longer a federal contractor and will be unable to use the credit union. iDesired Settlement: I would either like a refund of my account or if that is not possible at the very minimum an apology for their poor customer service practices.
