Review: my wife and I looked at a house for rent thru elliman in [redacted]- we gave 2 cash deposits-november & december- $1800 & $500- a total of $2300-to their agent, [redacted]- we received 2 receipts stating the deposits were fully refundable if the landlord didn't sign the receipts-which he didn't-we asked for several issues in the house to be addressed before we moved in and they weren't. we never signed a lease and we were told by the [redacted], that if we didn't move forward with the house it would be fine but the landlord was going to keep a portion of the money. we decided that we did not want to move forward and when my wife called [redacted] to get the $2300 deposit back, we were informed she was too busy and then that she couldn't refund our deposit until she spoke to the landlord-she then hung up on us. we have all the documentation which clearly states our monies are fully refundable. we contacted her [redacted],via phone and email, and never received a return call. we need to move by jan** and without this money we will be unable to move into another apartment- this will leave us homeless.Desired Settlement: $2300 cash refund immediately
