Prooples

I requested to book a property through Prooples on 10/30/15. I was told the dates were available and called to confirm with [redacted] Coleman ASAP. She told me she was traveling but would get me the agreement in the next day or two. When I did not hear back, I called again. I was told that it would take a few days but to rest assured, me and my family (all flying in from New York) were most definitely booked in their calendar. And even when I said to please let me know for sure as the trip was over the holidays and I didn't want to be stuck with no place to stay with the kids, I was once again reassured that I was most certainly on the calender and I would receive the agreement by the end of the week and if I didn't just give a call back. Which is today 11/13/15. When I called to ask where said agreement was so I could make a deposit [redacted] told that they had rented it out via AirBnB to someone else in the 'meantime' since they "hadn't had time to send me the agreement and AirBNB is more 'manual'! When I of course expressed my indignation and shock, all [redacted] had to say was "Well, you know you didn't receive paper work or make a deposit so, sorry". Yes, [redacted], because I was told it would sent to me by the end of the week because you were traveling and I was definitely booked in your calendar! Such a shoddy way to run a business, terrible customer service and so 100% completely unprofessional. When I asked why she didn't direct me to just book it manually on AirBnB, [redacted]'s response was "We prefer VRBO (ps I was on HomeAway) because we have more control". [redacted] did not even bother to notify me that the property had been rented to someone else, regardless of her saying I definitely had it and had saying not to worry about it and I had no need to look for another place. Not to mention the multiple phone conversations we had personally over the last three weeks. Buyer Beware!!! This business Prooples is a complete waste of your time and you may well end up like this, weeks away from your trip, plane tickets across the country purchased, family flying in as well and no where to stay.
