Promenade Cab Company

Review: I was grossly mistreated, cursed at and received a malicious text from Pete Durand at Valley Promenade Cab Co.I called the phone number listed on Valley Promenade Cab Company's yelp page at around 6:45 pm on Friday, March 28 to request a cab ride from Solvang, CA to Los Olivos, CA. I was visiting the area and was not familiar with cab services available, so I just called the first taxi company I found on Yelp. Pete Durand (the driver recruiter, who I believe is based out of Santa Barbara) answered the phone and I proceeded to ask him what the fare would be from Solvang to Los Olivos, to which he answered, "about $15-$20". I replied, "Thank you, that's all I need for right now!", since I wasn't ready to actually place a request for a cab yet. He responded with a question that I understood as "Do you have an Uber or Lyft account?" so I said "Yes, I guess I could use Uber." Mr. Durand's voice darkened and he said, "You think you're cute, don't you?" and then he screamed, "Fk you!" and hung up on me. I was initially confused by the turn the conversation took, but I can only assume that he thought I was a spy for Uber or Lyft, scoping for fare quotes. I was very shaken, but called him back to explain that I was a potential customer, but after having been spoken to like that I will take my business elsewhere. I must admit that in my anger, I cursed back at him, but I have never been spoken to like that by a business. A few minutes later I received a text from Pete saying, "Thanks for the call, YOU CONDESCENDING ITTLE (sic) B! Good luck finding a ride!" with a list of other cab companies/drivers. I responded, "Do not text me again, sir. I am reporting you to the Revdex.com."Desired Settlement: I'm not sure what settlement I could receive considering I did not end up patronizing this business after the way Pete Durand treated me on the phone. I just could not let this gross misconduct go undocumented.Also, I do not want my name or contact information available to this man - I feel vulnerable enough that he has my cell phone number.
