Review: The owner contracted to design a website for my company, but once he had the money he never created the side and skipped town.

In the end of January 2013 I met with the owner of ProHoopla to contract them to design a website. He accepted a check and we signed a contract for his company to design a very simple website of only ten pages. The next week he hired an employee to do the work for him. Neither he, nor his employee, did any real work on the page. I can extend grace to him for hiring a bad employee. However, once he discovered the problem, nothing was done to resolve my problem.

Some problems include: he lost the outline I gave him with my website wants on it. He wrote my credit card number on a paper that he promised would be locked in his safe, but called me to tell me he'd lost it.

He would ignore my phone calls, and talks way too much when I did finally get a hold of him. "Many are the words of a fool" says the book of Proverbs. It was certainly right about this gentleman.

After 3 months of getting the run-around, (every time we met he told me the job could be done in 5 days, but nothing ever got done). The owner told me he was simply overwhelmed and would probably take 3-4 more months to even get to my job. I told him I'd rather have a refund and hire someone else. He'd breached his contract.

He told me he didn't have "2 pennys to rub together" and that he was forcing his wife and 8 month old daughter to live in the Norther Slums of Las Vegas because he was so poor. A: you didn't have to move & B: you conned me out of my money and should give it back.

If he had spent half as much of his time working on my website as he did running his mouth, I'd have a finished site.

Even if I can't get my money back, I'd like to warn the world, especially those in the towns he runs to: This Man is at best a thief and at worst a Con Artist. He will take your money and skip town for, as he put it, a "Fresh Start."Desired Settlement: I should be given a full refund because he breached the contract.

I have contacted this customer (Ms. [redacted]) personally, and though she was not interested in my original offer to right the situation, rather she simply prefers her money back. I have been in contact with her and we have arranged and mutually agreeable solution.

Case resolved.
