Review: Dear Sir/Madam,I have a couple of [redacted] monolights in my lighting kit. I purchased them in the [redacted] in NJ because of the Profoto reputation of quality. I used them extremely rarely (may be 4-5 times total since purchased)On 5/18/2014, I was photographing in my studio and used these two lights among others. After about 10 minutes, one of the lights stopped working. Modeling light was working fine but flash stopped flashing and "Test" button on the back was no longer green. I toggled on/off switch few times. This did not help. I rotated power dial up and down. That did not help. As I was rotating power dial up/down, monoblock started to smell like it is burning and white smoke started coming out of the back of the unit. I yanked the light's power cord out of the wall outlet and luckily smoke stopped after some time. Needless to say, photoshoot was ruined and had to be stop because of the smell.I contacted Profoto few times.I can't believe something like that would happen. I would assume that light should have one or more protectors designed to prevent this kind of potential fires.
