I brought our car to pro tech for an engine replacement which was done then a month later the transmission had to be done. We brought the car to a transmission place for this service. They put the car on a lift and they decided not to put in the transmission due to a lot of rust on the frame. The rust should have been seen by pro tech as they also had put the vehicle on a lift for a new control arm replacement. The [redacted] engine replacement repair should have never been done due to the extensive rust on the frame which is a safety issue. If we were told about the extensive rust we would not have replaced the motor and used the money borrowed from our family to purchase a new used car. We now find ourselves without a vehicle and not enough money to purchase another one. We have tried to contact the [redacted] to resolve this issue, however he is never in when we call. We did talk to his [redacted] about the issue but he says he has no say in the matter. We are willing to give him the car, with the [redacted] motor that we paid for and he put in, for [redacted] dollars. This will give us enough money to buy a used vehicle.Desired Settlement I am looking for a partial refund. We spent [redacted] on the motor and over a grand on a new timing belt, distributer cap, control arm and axil. We are willing to give them the car with the motor that they put in and want them to give us [redacted] back out of the money we spent to fix the car. Business Response I have spoke with the customer and have an intentive agreement with them.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As of 4/30 my wife received a call from [redacted] the [redacted] and he stated that he is still working on getting a title for the car that he is getting for us. later that day I returned a call to the [redacted] and stated the we will not stop the complaint till he gives us the title and proves that the car will pass [redacted] or until he gives us a refund. He stated that he understood and that he would do the same if he was in our shoes. So to respond to protechs response, we would either like a title in hand to a vehicle that WILL pass [redacted] or we would prefer a cash refund. If we drop our claim we feel that nothing will happen. So there is NO agreement to stop our claim with the Revdex.com.Final Business Response The agreement with [redacted] is we are going to give him a 2000 Toyota Camry that will run, drive, and pass [redacted] inspection. At the moment we are going through the legal aspects of getting the title in our possession, this being the time consumer of being able to get the vehicle to [redacted].Consumer Response so here we are 6/5 and about 2 weeks ago Protech has called and said he would not be able to get the car as stated in our earlier complaint. he offered us to buy a car for 800.00 and he would then put in 1000.00 credit for repairs and then we would have to finish the repairs to said car. I am furious as he had not followed through as promised. I then asked for copies of reciepts for work that he has done and as of Mon 6/2 I had stated that I will be going to small claims court.
