I am refusing the business’s response, because this technician is a complete liar, and he is trying to absolve himself of damage that he did to our dryer When he came to our home, he was supposed to have already been given full instructions as to why he was sent out here, but he comes out pretending as though he had no idea On the dryer he was sent out here to work on the dryer’s magnetic door lock, and to also check the settings on the dryer, because some of the settings were running longer than they should have, and not working as properly as they should be, he is making it so as though he wasn’t supposed to do this And yes, I did ask him about the dryer vent, I did have a piece of the silver vent hose that goes behind the dryer, I figured that since he was going to be working on the dryer anyway, it wouldn’t be a problem for him to switch it out for meThis was nothing that would take any great amount of time, and it wasn’t anything difficult, I figured that he was going to have to pull the dryer out if he was going to get to the controls from the back of the dryer anyway, this shouldn’t have been an unreasonable requestAnd this proves to me that he didn’t adjust any sensors on the dryer as he had stated, because he didn’t move the dryer, so he never adjusted the settings as he had claimed that he did He was supposed to also find out why the washer was not workingThis man spent the majority of the time he was here doing what he wanted to do with the dryerHe is lying when he states that before he did anything with the dryer door, he consulted with me When he came here, I pointed out to him from the front door where to turn in my home to reach the laundry room, and I followed behind himAs we were walking I reiterated to him what our issues were with the appliances, and I led him to the washer, and dryer, and then I left the room and went and sat in my family room, which I can see the hallway where the entrance is to the laundry room Mind you this man did not tell me anything before hand as to what he was going to do with either of the appliances He is lying when he states that the dryer door would not close all the way, this is in no way true, the door had a magnetic lock, and if the door was not closed all the way, the dryer will not move at all to dry the clothesThe magnet gripped onto the door fine, but for some reason the little catch in the middle of the magnet became loose, and we all of a sudden would have to manually set the little catch, in the middle of the magnet, so that the catch and the magnet would meet up with the clip on the dryer face, and be able to fully close the door All this technician had to do was order, and replace the magnetic catch on the door, and find out what was going on with the dryer settings, and the dryer would have been done But he is lying when he stated that he did not have a drill, my husband has used tools around me long enough, so I know what a drill and a hammer are I started to hear loud banging, and drilling in the laundry room, and this is why I came back into the laundry room to see what this man was doingI was not sure what he was doing, but when I got there, he was crouched down, and he had the dryer door off, but balancing it against the face of the dryer door, and balancing it with his knees, it looked as though the door was heavy, and he was in a bad position with this door, so I thought he was struggling, and I reached over to grab the side of the door closest to me, because I thought it was falling, he said that he had it, and I left him to do his work He did not tell me anything then about switching the dryer door, he did not tell me till he was all done and he came out to the area where I was seated, and that is when I went back and saw what he had doneHe said that it was easier for him to do that, instead of having to hunt down the part, and those were his exact words It did not seem like this Professional Air technician fully looked over the washing machine, as the second technician did that came out hereWith this technician, all I could hear was the washer making really, really, loud noises, nothing like he was moving it to fully look it over The second technician, I could hear the washer being moved as though he was thoroughly checking it outAnd when he was done, he stated that the first technician was not being truthful, I was told by this first technician from Professional Air, that the washer was functional as he left, and we could use it in the meantime as he ordered a part, the second technician told me that our washer was DEAD, and it could not be repaired And the second technician also stated that the reason that the Professional Air technician had reversed the dryer door, was so that he would not have to come back out and fix itHe knew that the washer was not able to be fixed, so I suppose he didn’t want to come back out here to replace a small lock, it was easier to Jimmy Rig the dryer, and be done with it He also claimed that he adjusted the settings on the dryer, he lied here also, the second technician stated that, that was not possible for him to do Whether the door was reversible or not, no one asked him to reverse it, and there is nothing that can be done to have the dryer looking how it looked prior to him putting his hands on it The dryer interior face where the door latches, is still all scratched up, he knows he had a drill, because the screws that he put into the door plate on the dryer did not match up, and he drilled a hole into the body of the machine, so on the bottom of the top door hinge, there is a hole where a screw would have went, if this is what the manufacturer would have wanted, but there is none, he drilled a makeshift hole just below this area, and placed a screw thereHe was doing what he wanted to do He took out the door catch, and just threw an everyday old screw into the hole that was meant for the catch, making the dryer look cheap, this was an expensive dryer when we purchased it, a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer is not a cheap one, and other than the minor issues he was supposed to be fixing when he came out here, we should not be left with our dryer as is There is nothing he can do with the changes he made to bring the dryer back to what it was, it will never look as how it looked when we purchased it, and he knows thisHe just felt like he could come into our home, and we would have to settle for any old half a
s so called non-reputable changes that he made to our appliance And the trade fee of $60.00, I did not pay this to him because I felt that he did anything that I was pleased about, the trade fee is mandatorily paid according to the warranty company when the technician comes outAnd I do feel that he owes us that back, along with some compensation for the dryer, because he knows that he messed ours upAnd also on the back of his card, why did he only write the claim number for the washer, he did that because as far as he was concerned, he was done with the dryer All other technicians that have come out to our home for anything, have been able to leave us with some sort of written summary as to what our problem is, and how they plan to take care of it, and then get with the warranty companyIn fact most go out to their vehicles, and call the warranty company and we have some sort of written run down as to what is to take place prior to them leaving This guy did not want to leave anything in writing, he didn’t want to even give me a receipt for the trade fee he was paid, he is the one that stated that he would be sending a text, this is not what I wanted, I wanted a hard copy receipt, I even asked the liar, how was I supposed to print this receipt from my phone for my records I wanted him to call the warranty company prior to him leaving, all he had was excuses as to why he couldn’tHe said that he would call them after he left, because he had another job to go toWell I called them several times that day, and they stated that they could not tell me anything until they got information from him, and still into the evening, he had not called them as yet I did let them know what he did, and damn right, we don’t want him out here ever againEven on your Revdex.com write up about his business, it states that he works on Small appliances, and is proficient in Air Conditioners, why did he have them send him out here to touch our washer, and dryer, if this is not what he is proficient in The warranty company is just as unreputable as this business Professional Air, they know that the buyout of $can in no way replace our dryer, and they stated to go after Professional Air’s Insurance to make us whole for the dryerWe are still waiting over a month for our washer replacement, this shows what type of Warranty Company we are dealing with, and this says a lot to me about the businesses that they deal with as contractors We still feel that Professional Air should not be absolved of what this technician did to our dryerAnd we feel that we are owed our trade fee refunded, as well as some compensation for the dryerWhy should we have to deal with a defaced dryer, as witnessed by the second technician that came out here? And we want this complaint to be placed on your Revdex.com website, so that other consumers will be aware of our experience with both this warranty company, and this business Professional Air
On 10/20/2015, I had received two claims from Home Warranty of America #*** and #*** regarding a clothes washer and dryerUpon arrival to the appointment, the homeowner detailed the complaint of the washer and dryer then left the laundry roomInitial brief inspection revealed dryer to have
a broken door clip and a slightly misaligned doorAttention was turned to the washerThis particular model washer has a service manual hidden inside the machineTo access, one must release the clips and lift the top back on its hingesWith service manual in hand, the diagnostic mode of the control board was initiatedDiagnostics revealed that the drum was mechanically seized and advised to physically attempt to find the source of mechanical frictionI attempted to turn the bowl by hand and with some pressure I was able to free the bowlI ran diagnosis once againThe machine was able to successfully complete the automatic test without error but I did observe that the machine was quite louder than usual during the spin mode portion of the testAt that point I knew that the problem was the bearing of the gear caseEven though the machine was now operating properly, it was a matter of time before it seized againI noted to replace gear caseI returned the manual and closed the top of the machineThe top does make a loud pop when securing it on to it's retaining clipsA moment later the homeowner appeared at the doorway of the laundry roomI showed the homeowner that the retaining door clip of the dryer was brokenI explained that machine is taking longer to dry because there was nothing holding the door closedI then explained to her that this model dryer(model #wed6400sw1) came equipped with a reversible door so that the door may open away from washer irregardless of dryer/washer orientationI also explained to the homeowner that I could reverse the door so that it would swing away from the washer and it would also remedy the issue with the dryer for it had a second door clip in good condition on the other sideThe homeowner's exact response was "makes sense to me"I then preceded with the proper manufacturer's procedure of door reversalI was uncomfortable when the homeowner attempted to "help" with the processAs a note, the door clip is located on the dryer door outside of the door seal of the doorWhen the door is closed, the contents of the dryer have no access to the door clip nor can heat escape through itThe reversal was successful at which point the homeowner then requested that I perform maintenance on the machine as well as change the vent hose in the backMaintenance is not addressed by the home warranty, I explained to her that I simply did not have the time that day but would be more that happy to upon my return with the needed parts for repairAt that point we left the laundry room and moved to the island by the front doorAt that point the homeowner had asked me if the washer was operatingI had answered that it was functioning at the moment but I still needed to order parts for it, along with the door clip of the dryerThe homeowner seemed pleased without concern as a credit card was offered for payment of the deductible of the claimCredit card transactions only offer receipt via email or text during the transactionThe homeowner choose textShe had also requested a printed receipt where I explained to her I had no way to print oneShe also requested an invoice detailing the repairsI explained that a hardcopy is always provided upon completion of the repairsI also explained that I will order these parts and submit a report to her home warranty company for approvalOnce the parts where received, she will be contacted immediately for schedulingI supplied the home owner with a company business card with the claim number and method of payment on the backI bid her a good day and took my leave. That following Monday the parts arrived for the washer and dryerI called Home Warranty of America for approval and was surprised to find that the homeowner had the claim reassigned to another vendorThe homeowner's reason is that I drilled into the frame of her dryer with a drillAs a note, I only had a screwgun that I commonly useI used it to remove the hardware of the hinges so that I may fasten the door to the factory supplied holes on the opposite side. The Home Warranty of America vendor relations representative called a few days later in regards to this claimI recounted as above and supplied the model number of the unit so that it may be verified that it was a reversible modelI also inquired of the report of the second vendor assigned to the claimThe other vendor reported the door had been reversed and the dryer was in need of a door clipThe part number of the door clip is #wand the retail cost is $The rep revealed to me that the homeowner is refusing any repairs from any vendor and is demanding the warranty supply the retail cost of a new machineThe representative also informed me that the warranty has found absolutely no reason to do so and they are going to 'cash out' the home owner for the repair cost. Our company was never afforded the ability by the homeowner to complete the repairs of the dryer or washerOur insurance does cover in the event of a faulty repair or secondary damage caused by that repairAs well as only addresses that actual damage and not reimbursement of the entire machine unless the cost of the repair exceeds replacement costWhich is also the process of the home warranty that this machine is guaranteed byI am confused by the nature of this complaint for there would be no issue if the repair was allowed to be completedThere was no damage to the dryer by the door reversal but I would be more than willing to compensate for any damages to the dryer had there beenHome Warranty of America has this exact policy as well.I would also be willing to refund the deductible collected on behalf of the warranty claim but I would also have to inform the home warranty for it may affect the 'cash out' amount on this claim
I am refusing the business’s response, because
s so
this technician is a complete liar, and he is trying to absolve himself of
damage that he did to our dryer.
When he came to our home, he was supposed
to have already been given full instructions as to why he was sent out here,
but he comes out pretending as though he had no idea.
On the dryer he was sent out here to work
on the dryer’s magnetic door lock, and to also check the settings on the dryer,
because some of the settings were running longer than they should have, and not
working as properly as they should be, he is making it so as though he wasn’t supposed
to do this.
And
yes, I did ask him about the dryer vent, I did have a piece of the silver vent hose
that goes behind the dryer, I figured that since he was going to be working on the dryer anyway, it
wouldn’t be a problem for him to switch it out for me. This was nothing that
would take any great amount of time, and it wasn’t anything difficult, I
figured that he was going to have to pull the dryer out if he was going to get
to the controls from the back of the dryer anyway, this shouldn’t have been an unreasonable
request. And this proves to me that he didn’t adjust any sensors on the dryer
as he had stated, because he didn’t move the dryer, so he never adjusted the
settings as he had claimed that he did.
He was supposed to also find out why the
washer was not working. This man spent the majority of the time he was here
doing what he wanted to do with the dryer. He is lying when he states that
before he did anything with the dryer door, he consulted with me.
When he came here, I pointed out to him
from the front door where to turn in my home to reach the laundry room, and I
followed behind him. As we were walking I reiterated to him what our issues
were with the appliances, and I led him to the washer, and dryer, and then I
left the room and went and sat in my family room, which I can see the hallway where
the entrance is to the laundry room.
Mind you this man did not tell me anything
before hand as to what he was going to do with either of the appliances.
He is lying when he states that the dryer
door would not close all the way, this is in no way true, the door had a magnetic lock, and if the door
was not closed all the way, the dryer will not move at all to dry the clothes. The
magnet gripped onto the door fine, but for some reason the little catch in the
middle of the magnet became loose, and we all of a sudden would have to manually
set the little catch, in the middle of the magnet, so that the catch and the
magnet would meet up with the clip on the dryer face, and be able to fully
close the door.
All this technician had to do was order, and
replace the magnetic catch on the door, and find out what was going on with the
dryer settings, and the dryer would have been done.
But he is lying when he stated that he did
not have a drill, my husband has used tools around me long enough, so I know what
a drill and a hammer are.
I
started to hear loud banging, and drilling in the laundry room, and this is why
I came back into the laundry room to see what this man was doing. I was not
sure what he was doing, but when I got there, he was crouched down, and he had
the dryer door off, but balancing it against the face of the dryer door, and balancing
it with his knees, it looked as though the door was heavy, and he was in a bad
position with this door, so I thought he was struggling, and I reached over to
grab the side of the door closest to me, because I thought it was falling, he
said that he had it, and I left him to do his work.
He did not tell me anything then about
switching the dryer door, he did not tell me till he was all done and he came
out to the area where I was seated, and that is when I went back and saw what
he had done. He said that it was easier for him to do that, instead of having
to hunt down the part, and those were his exact words.
It
did not seem like this Professional Air technician fully looked over the
washing machine, as the second technician did that came out here. With this
technician, all I could hear was the washer making really, really, loud noises,
nothing like he was moving it to fully look it over.
The second technician, I could hear the
washer being moved as though he was thoroughly checking it out. And when he was
done, he stated that the first technician was not being truthful, I was told by
this first technician from Professional Air, that the washer was functional as
he left, and we could use it in the meantime as he ordered a part, the second
technician told me that our washer was DEAD,
and it could not be repaired.
And the second technician also stated that
the reason that the Professional Air technician had reversed the dryer door,
was so that he would not have to come back out and fix it. He knew that the washer
was not able to be fixed, so I suppose he didn’t want to come back out here to
replace a small lock, it was easier to Jimmy Rig the dryer, and be done with
it.
He also claimed that he adjusted the
settings on the dryer, he lied here also, the second technician stated that,
that was not possible for him to do.
Whether the door was reversible or not, no
one asked him to reverse it, and there is nothing that can be done to have the
dryer looking how it looked prior to him putting his hands on it.
The
dryer interior face where the door latches, is still all scratched up, he knows
he had a drill, because the screws that he put into the door plate on the dryer
did not match up, and he drilled a hole into the body of the machine, so on the
bottom of the top door hinge, there is a hole where a screw would have went, if
this is what the manufacturer would have wanted, but there is none, he drilled
a makeshift hole just below this area, and placed a screw there. He was doing
what he wanted to do.
He
took out the door catch, and just threw an everyday old screw into the hole
that was meant for the catch, making the dryer look cheap, this was an
expensive dryer when we purchased it, a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer is not a cheap
one, and other than the minor issues he was supposed to be fixing when he came
out here, we should not be left with our dryer as is.
There is nothing he can do with the
changes he made to bring the dryer back to what it was, it will never look as
how it looked when we purchased it, and he knows this. He just felt like he
could come into our home, and we would have to settle for any old half a
called non-reputable changes that he made to our appliance.
And the trade fee of $60.00, I did not pay
this to him because I felt that he did anything that I was pleased about, the
trade fee is mandatorily paid according to the warranty company when the
technician comes out. And I do feel that he owes us that back, along with some
compensation for the dryer, because he knows that he messed ours up. And also
on the back of his card, why did he only write the claim number for the washer,
he did that because as far as he was concerned, he was done with the dryer.
All other technicians that have come out
to our home for anything, have been able to leave us with some sort of written
summary as to what our problem is, and how they plan to take care of it, and
then get with the warranty company. In fact most go out to their vehicles, and
call the warranty company and we have some sort of written run down as to what
is to take place prior to them leaving.
This guy did not want to leave anything in
writing, he didn’t want to even give me a receipt for the trade fee he was
paid, he is the one that stated that he would be sending a text, this is not
what I wanted, I wanted a hard copy receipt, I even asked the liar, how was I
supposed to print this receipt from my phone for my records.
I wanted him to call the warranty company
prior to him leaving, all he had was excuses as to why he couldn’t. He said
that he would call them after he left, because he had another job to go to. Well
I called them several times that day, and they stated that they could not tell
me anything until they got information from him, and still into the evening, he
had not called them as yet.
I
did let them know what he did, and damn right, we don’t want him out here ever
again. Even on your Revdex.com write up about his business, it states that he works on
Small appliances, and is
proficient in Air Conditioners,
why did he have them send him out here to
touch our washer, and dryer, if this is not what he is proficient in.
The warranty company is just as unreputable
as this business Professional Air, they know that the buyout of $200.00 can in
no way replace our dryer, and they stated to go after Professional Air’s
Insurance to make us whole for the dryer. We are still waiting over a month for
our washer replacement, this shows what type of Warranty Company we are dealing
with, and this says a lot to me about the businesses that they deal with as
contractors.
We still feel that Professional Air should
not be absolved of what this technician did to our dryer. And we feel that we
are owed our trade fee refunded, as well as some compensation for the dryer. Why
should we have to deal with a defaced dryer, as witnessed by the second
technician that came out here?
And we want this complaint to be placed on
your Revdex.com website, so that other consumers will be aware of our
experience with both this warranty company, and this business Professional Air.
