After taking my 4wd in for an oil change, a couple months ago I was told by an employee that all of my fluid was dirty and that it looked like my vehicle had never been serviced. I was then prompted to have this service done by them. I declined at stated that if my vehicle was in that poor of condition that I would take it to the dealer for service.
I finally got around to taking it in and after a full inspection NOTHING was wrong with my vehicle except that I'm 1mm away from needing rear brakes. I paid for an unrelated replacement key and was on my way.
I called Pro Lube to put them on notice that their employee tried to sell me an unnecessary service and the manager first told me that the high pressure "suggestion" was made based on mileage. When I described the visual of clean versus dirty oil and how the lack of maintenance was emphasized, the manager said that I should have called the next day if I felt pressured. I then explained that I had no idea I was being lied to until today and that I was calling immediately after picking up my vehicle.
