We even got the warranty company to cover the majority of the transmission repair bill, and had we been involved in choosing the repair shop that completed the work it would've been completely covered.
I was attempting to selling my 2014 ***, as my financial situation has changed ***. I had listed my vehicle on ***, when Pro Credit called me to help; they had harassed me for weeks on end. When I finally contacted them they had offered to buy my *** for $34,500.00, however my outstanding loan was for $38,000.00. They would then find me a temporary vehicle, they then stated that they would sell my *** in 3 months. They said that this would eat up the negative equity, thus getting me into a smaller vehicle, which would be easier on gas and have a much lower payment. They said it would be “something I could afford”.
Jesse and AJ from Pro Credit promised me that I would get a loan for $47,500.00 for a 2016 *** (I did not have a choice in vehicle or price), however I would only need to drive it for 3 months, and that I was approved for 3 months with no payments on the *** with ***. They promised me that no matter what the paperwork said that I was signing I would not have to make a payment on the ***. I was told to call AJ the beginning of May at which point he would get me a new loan which was to eat up my $3,500.00 equity from the *** and buy me out of the $47,500.00 total loan clear.
I began calling about mid-April with a few quick questions on vehicles... I received no call backs, no responses to email or texts. I had finally spoken with Dave the Customer Service Manager, he had said he would “talk to AJ and Jesse and have them call me asap”. AJ called and confirmed the deal to me again on the phone and said he would call in the morning to arrange a meeting to come look at vehicles.
He never called me back despite his promise. I then texted and called him again. I had called Dave again Monday and he promised me he would look into it and get back to me.. Numerous days had past and I still had no contact with him. *** I called Dave again and he informed me AJ and his team are no longer with Pro Credit and he needed a little time to look over my file and will get back to me. Yet again I did not receive a call back. I called again Dave and a man named Oz called me. Oz said the deal was not a deal, and that there was “no way any of it happened”, ***. I have text messages and *** who can confirm this information ***.
Dave then requested that I come in for a meeting on 25-04-2017 to discuss options, as he wanted to fix this situation. *** I went in to meet with Dave and Oz. Despite being told that Jesse was no longer working there, we saw him at the office. I asked that he be present in the meeting as he was the one who set all of this up, however they would not ask him into the meeting. Procredit offered me a cheque for $2,000.00 to help me with payments on the *** for the next 6 months, they stated that I would have to sign a release stating that Pro Credit was not in fault for any of this. They would not offer any other solutions or assistance. Oz was incredibly rude, demeaning, negative and not willing to listen. Dave was very open, seemed to be sincere and kind. I let them know I would not sign anything or take the money as I needed more in writing to help me in 6 months. I needed to know that I would not be stuck with major negative equity because of this. They said they cannot say any of that, Oz then alluded to the offer of the $2,000.00 is there now, but he would not keep it on the table. So either take it or leave it. They threatened me by saying that “no bank would look at this to keep their end of the deal now as I have not made any payments”.
I offered for them to take the vehicle back, pay off that loan minus my difference in negative equity from the ***. They declined, saying that they can’t do that. I offered for them to buy the *** back in full and I would walk away with no loan and no vehicle; they said no again. I said we need to come to an agreement that works, as right now I am losing everything, ***. ***.
This company needs to be held accountable for what they promised me. With one of the men doing my deal still working there, I should still get this honoured. I completely understand and take responsibility for signing the paperwork; I understand that it does look like I agreed. However I do have text messages going back to January with Jesse, telling me that they are there to help and not to worry and they won’t “screw me” ... and that they do this all the time.
