This business sold us a motorcycle they knew had a problem with the clutch, we have service records from the time they received it until it went on the showroom floor to prove it. After paying them to have them fix the clutch problems we were experiencing the problems are still there. They refuse to fix the issue without us paying more and will not take responsiblity. Don't waste your money at Pro Caliber Motorsports in Vancouver unless you like being taken advantage of.
Here is our reply to the customer's complaint.
As the Northwest’s Largest and Most Successful Powersports Dealership that literally works on and sells thousands of motorcycles, ATVs, Side By Sides, Snowmbiles and PWC a year we take customer service very seriously and we do not like to ever have an unhappy customer but here are the facts regarding this situation and our response as well as an offer to further assist you.
You purchased this used 2007 *** on 3-24-2019 so it is a 12 year old motorcycle that had 28,600 miles on it.
This bike was traded into our Dealership prior to you purchasing it and like all used motorcycles we take in we did a complete 21 Point Used Vehicle Inspection and test ride. During this process we determined it did in fact need a clutch, so we installed a brand new factory clutch assembly as well as performed the inspection, an oil change and some other minor repairs. We ended up doing over $1200 in labor and repairs on this motorcycle to make it 100% ready to sell.
After all the work was completed the motorcycle was test ridden again by one of our senior techs and was found to run, shift and ride properly. There was no shifting problem noted and as always genuine factory parts were used to replace the clutch and the work was done by our senior tech that has over 30 years of experience repairing and riding motorcycles.
Fast forward to 6-28-2019 when your motorcycle was brought in for us to diagnose a shifting issue. The bike also now has 30,804 miles showing on the odometer so you have owned this 12 year old used motorcycle for over 3 months and put over 2204 miles on it. Furthermore, since it was purchased as a used your bike it has no extended warranty and it is over 12 years old yet apparently you expect us to fix it for free based on your false claim it had clutch issues we did not address but actually we had already repaired before selling it.
As well the very same tech that originally did the Used Vehicle Inspection and installed the clutch rode the bike again to see if he could replicate the shifting issue you claim to have and he could not replicate it in any way. Another employee that is a Service Writer and also a trained Motorcycle Technician rode the motorcycle and could not replicate the issue either. It is obviously hard for us to suggest a remedy or repair something we cannot replicate in any way. The second employee that rode it also noted when he went to ride the motorcycle it was stopped in second gear which he noticed immediately when he went to take off which was odd.
In summary in spite of your motorcycle being purchased used, having no warranty, having over 2200 more miles on it since we sold it to you and the other reality that two very experienced motorcycle technicians and riders could not replicate your issue we are still willing to try and help you out since you did buy from us but we surely are not working on it for free just as no other Motorcycle Dealership in the country would under these circumstances.
What we are willing to do is work on it at a discounted rate as well as discount any parts you may need or trade you out of it for a new motorcycle with a warranty. If you would like to discuss these options please feel free to contact us [email protected].
While we agree we have had the motorcycle for 3 months and put miles on it during that time, the whole truth is not being told by Pro Caliber Vancouver. Their GM will not return our calls, their parts manager told us they would repair the bike on their dime then 10 minutes later we received a call from their service manager saying that was not the case. They claim they cannot find the problem and attempt to make it sound like there isn't a problem. The motorcycle is currently at a larger dealership service center where they identified the problem in less then 2 minutes and are working to correct it. So in summary Pro Caliber Vancouver was incapable of finding and fixing the problem we paid them to fix that was directly related to the clutch they replaced when they took in the bike and their entire management has been nothing but rude and nasty and refuses to fix the issue. They will see us in court.
Please disregard my first review. I would like to apologize to John and pro caliber. I just want to think john for haveing travis contacting me and working things out. At first I thought that pro caliber does not care about their customer, they do care. Thanks for giving me back my trade in money from first bike and putting it on the new bike with ABS. And about the oil change thing, I talk to gordon about it and he explain to me about why it might still be a little dark. And I would like to thank gordon the sales man for all the help he did. Again thank you john.
When I first bought my bike. I left a very highly reconmened review. No if I can change it I would give it a 0. When I first bought my bike I ask for one with ABS. And sales guy told me that the one I was getting had ABS. 2 weeks later come to find out it had no ABS. Emailed them and they would trade me a bike with ABS with no ABS charge. Before that I traded my old bike in for the one that was suppost to have ABS. Did some research before I trade it for the one with abs come to find out I was still gonna get charge ABS price and I will loose my $2000 trade in money from the old bike. Was really diappointed. Then I brought my bike in for the 500mile service. Brought it in and had told the service guy that my bike felt like my breaks might be warp or so. When I slow down it feels like the break was catching like it was warp. Ant I told him about my break line rubbing my finder and it had rub the paint off it. He said that the mechanic will road test it. I drop it off with 529miles. I drop my bike off on a friday and was told that my bikes appointment will be service on tuesday. Waited till thursday night and I finally called them to see if the bike was done yet. They told me that it was done late tuesday. But no phone called from them. On they day I pick up my bike it looked just like when I drop it off. I ask about why my break feels like it was warp and told there was nothing wrong. Then I ask about why my break line was rubbing my fender and to see if they are going to do something about it. And the same guy I talk to when I first drop off the bike rudely told me that he already submitted my claim in already. But why is he just now taking pictur of the paint scartch on the fender if he had already submitted my claim. And when I picked up the bike it had the same miles on it 529 miles so that means the mechanic never road tested it.Got home and decided to check my oil. And its as dirty as when I drop it off. Havent rode my bike since and show some of my mechanic friends the oil and they all said rideing the bike from pro caliber to my place if the oil was changed it would of not been that dark and dirty. Paid $348 for service I never got. Maybe this is why the mechanic didnt to sign my service book and said that his hands were too dirty to sign my record book. So the service guy forge the mechanics initials in the book. Paid for $348 for service I never got.
Mr., the best way to resolve these issues is for you to call my General Manager Travis or me, John the owner. It seems as though there has been misunderstanding in both our sales department and service department on what you have wanted to buy and what you needed done in service. Call and ask for Travis the GM or John the owner and we will work to resolve these misunderstandings with you.
My husband and I purchased a motorcycle from ProCaliber on 04/02/18. We were contacted by ProCaliber and told it would be ready on that date. We drove up there only to find the battery was dead and we couldn't take possession of the bike. Nevertheless we completed the purchase and ProCaliber would deliver within a day or so. When signing the paperwork we were told it was customary for the DMV to take approx. 3 weeks to process the sale, and title. Therefore we were given a 21day temporary trip permit (OREGON ***) That permit officially expired on 04/23/18. We called ProCaliber at that time to inquire about the licence plates and were assured this was normal. On or around 06/18/18 (a full 2.5 months later) we received a call that we needed to take the motorcycle to an Oregon DMV office for a VIN validation. We completed this on 06/19/18 and hand delivered the Oregon paperwork to ProCaliber on 06/20
When we purchased the motorcycle we were assured the necessary paperwork would be submitted immediately to the Oregon DMV. They did not do this. Per Oregon DMV, if they do not have the VIN authentication they let the dealership know immediately. If the dealer had completed this step, we should have known immediately but as it is, we were not alerted about this until a full two and a half months later; Oregon Law states this step must be complete within 30 days, Washington Law states it must be complete within 45 days. On June 20th, 2018 MY HUSBAND WAS GUARANTEED THE PLATES WOULD BE IN BEFORE OUR ANNUAL ROAD TRIP on July 4th. Today is the last day of his vacation and we couldn't ride anywhere, not since 04/23/18.
AS OF TODAY 07/20/2018 BOTH OREGON AND WASHINGTON STATE DMV'S HAVE NO RECORD OF PROCALIBER SUBMITTING ANY PAPERWORK WHATSOEVER ! WE PAID THE FULL REGISTRATION AMOUNT... NOTHING
did purchase a used Kawasaki VN2000 from Pro Caliber on 4/2/2018 for $3699 plus license fees. We completed all the necessary purchase and licensing paperwork at that time.
On 4/16 the Pro Caliber Title Clerk sent all the licensing paperwork to the Oregon DMV to have his licensing paperwork completed. The Oregon DMV Blue Slipped the paperwork rejecting it because there was no VIN Inspection paperwork filed with it. On 6-20 the VIN inspection was delivered to Pro Caliber by the customer. On 6/25 the Licensing Paperwork with the proper VIN Inspection for Mr. was re-sent to the Oregon DMV.
We have spoken with Mr. and his wife a few times recently via phone where they did accuse us of not sending the paperwork back in, which is simply not true, as it was re-sent to the Oregon DMV on 6/25. They are basing their accusation on the fact that when they called the DMV the person they spoke with said there was no record of the paperwork being sent back in. In our experience as we deal with the up to 6 week delay by the Oregon DMV to complete paperwork (more often then we would like during the busy season) there is usually no record of the paperwork being received until the time they actually process it. From what we can tell there is no process, mail log, etc in place at the DMV that records receipt of paperwork that has not been processed. This is not the first time we have seen over a month delay in processing from the Oregon DMV or customers being told they show no record of their paperwork when they call in prior to when it is processed. This can definitely lead to someone believing we did not send in their paperwork in a timely manner.
We just received confirmation the licensing for Mr.’s motorcycle were completed on 8/1. Plate #*** should be in the hands of Mr. in 5 to 7 business days according to the Oregon DMV representative.
Pro Caliber apologizes for the delay which started with the substantial portion involving VIN Inspection delay and then the standard 4 to 6 weeks it takes the Oregon DMV to complete the licensing paperwork during the busy season.
In light of all that delay Pro Caliber did send Mr. a check for $64 to reimburse him for two 21 day trip permits which is the maximum Oregon will allow. We cannot issue these so he was informed he could purchase them and we would reimburse him for them. This would give him 42 additional days of temporary license plate where he could ride his motorcycle legally. We are not sure if Mr. did in fact purchase a temporary plate but we did send him the $64 anyhow as a gesture of goodwill. We are also sending Mr. a $200 Pro Caliber Gift Card today now that we have confirmed he will receive his plates within 5 to 7 days.
We do appreciate Mr.’s business and again sincerely apologize for all the delay and accept responsibility for the part of this situation that was within in our control and hopefully have explained clearly the portion which was not within our control.
I normally don't write negative reviews, but after dealing with the parts department I have to talk about my negative experience. I was in need of parts for a couple of my quads prior to going to the Oregon dunes. I was very short on time and was calling every parts dealer I could find to get what I needed. I called Pro Caliber and on first call they did not answer, a short time later they called me back. I explained to them what I needed and the parts guy said "let me look into this and I'll call you back" I said okay and a while later he called back and explained to me that he would be able to get what I needed and I would just have to pay to overnight the parts. I was relieved and said I was willing to pay extra for the shipping just to ensure I received the parts on my way through (I was driving all the way from Port Angeles, WA). This all took place on a Tuesday morning and I was scheduled to be going through Vancouver sometime late Saturday morning. They took my credit card information and assured me the parts would arrive late Thursday or Friday sometime, I hung up and was very happy with their service.
I left Port Angeles Friday morning and went to my parents house who live near Longview, WA to stay the night. Saturday morning I called Pro Caliber to let them know I would be picking up my parts and to verify they had them. They told me that they had no parts for me and that they didn't even show an order, the funny thing is that they had me in their system with my current phone number. I was talking with the manager at this point, he told me that he was going to look into this and call me back. A couple of hours went by and I never heard anything from them, I called back and the manager was unavailable. I called a second time and the manager was now out with a customer, I told the sales guy that I needed to speak with the manager and he said he would let him know and have him call me back. Needless to say to date I have not received a call back, not even to apologize for their mistake. At this point I will not recommend this business to anyone
On Saturday May 27th I went to Pro Caliber to buy new tires and get them put on along with an oil change. I had an appointment for the new tires but not for the oil change, but the staff worked me in. The staff was very courteous and the work on my bike was done quickly. The staff also showed honest concern for the well being of my bike and myself. They double checked that all the bolts and screws where well tightened before I headed out. Unmatched customer service, definitely will continue to bring bike to them.
Thanks for the positive review, we appreciate your business.
