We need a different company to come in and correct ProBasement's errors and finish our basementWe do not have the faith to stick with Larry to complete the job to our satisfactionThey were doing substandard work ? The worker’s we did like were quitting or being fired ? Because the
of work they were doing, after they insisted we put in our floors, we had to put our own tarps down to protect our floors ? We had the electrical work inspected; it was not done to codeMr*** was present for the inspectionThe inspector concluded that the wrong gauge wires were used for running under the joists ? The amount and quality work that has been completed is not near the amount we have paid out to date ? Of course, we would like to have some of our money returned to us for having to deal with all of this and the past deadlines, however, we would settle for a signed lien waiver from Mr*** and a statement from Pro Basement of a balance of $due ? This project was supposed to be done by my daughter's 15th birthday and junior high school graduation that was for August 29th and it's still not completeWe were initially told weeks to completionWe signed the contract on June 10th On the permit he applied for, the completion date was October 1st 2017.?
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 14, 2015/10/13) */
The company said they would refund my money. Hold off for a few days
Mr [redacted]'s basement is being completed as I type this. Our rapid growth of business in the past 12 months has caused growing pains in our production dept.Add this to a customer that can not decide on finish locations and finishes and it is a recipe for delay. We are meeting every request that is...
part of the contract as written as well as continual additional requests for changes. The [redacted]'s and Pro Basement will both be very happy when the project is completed in next 3 days.

I am rejecting this response because:
IIt is total [redacted] that we cannot decide on what to finish. They started this job in September 2016 and told us 3 months. Not once have we ever held up anything. We had to hire other contractors to do our floor and cabinets because "Pro Basement" did not show up, sometimes for months at a time. We had to threaten legal action to get him back out here again. This business is terrible. The owner is incompetent, rude, and does not communicate. We have been told by former employees that one of the reasons they left is because they were tired of lying to customers. This guy has a lot of nerve alto insinuate that we are the problem. He doesn't have growing pains he mismanaged things and blames his employees and customers. I have been told there are at least 6 people in the same predicament as us. I cannot believe he has the nerve to say these things. I am sure he will probably retain a good rating though because he probably pays to belong to this organization. His response is pathetic.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This customer (wife) filed a complaint while I was working with the husband to do additional work outside the scope of our Egress Project. The egress window is perfect. As a courtesy...we offered to put the customers fence back which was not part of the contract. The customer did not pay for...
this. The FREE work was completed as scheduled with the husband. How can they complain about something they did not contract or pay for. No Good Dead Goes Unpunished............

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/02/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The owner explanation makes it sound like I made a false claims and that untrue. The claim was very valid. I did try to reach the owner over several days and he never reached back out. (I have text messaging as proof) After this claim was filed he wanted to speak with my husband instead of me and that was fine. So, of course at that time we had no problem reaching him. Over the course of a week he and my husband reached a solution and the issue was resolved.
