Prime Autos

Purchased a 2008 Infiniti EX35 Dec.20, 2019, after dealer inspection. Specifically asked about warranty, given that it was a used car, not from a real dealership. Assured if a safety issue or something serious arose within 2 months he would work with us. Unfortunately that was verbal. That evening we discovered that the headlights were way too low. Added to regular maintenance list for local dealer/mechanic as maintenance was long overdue, not unexpected. We thought it was a simple adjustment issue.

Dec. 30, dealer informs us that adjusters on both headlights are broken. Replacement only option. Called Prime autos, he was immediately very defensive. Said he would call the next day, not surprisingly he didn’t. I am in no way implying that he, or his mechanic are responsible, That doesn’t change the fact that there is a serious issue. I’m sure it happened at one of the non-dealer places it was taken before and he realizes that I am 1.5 hours away, and work so will not just ‘run it up’ to his mechanic that I don’t know or trust. That’s why I sent him documentation.

Sent email Jan. 4 with pictures showing headlight illumination, the low beams shine approx. 40 ft. High beams only add about 20 extra ft. I would call that a safety issue. I also included the repair report from dealer. With all dealer information. Offered to forward a copy of the invoice after repairs are completed this Friday, Jan. 10. We were able to locate guaranteed, used replacements through a contact we have for $1,600.00 installed. Aftermarket ones don’t exist and new are $2,500.00 each. I informed him of all of this.

No response so far. I realize the timeline is short, but would like to have this resolved.
