scammed out of $1,000 by licensed real estate broker
I contacted a florida real estate broker Carlos Gazitua Lic. # BKXXXXXXX to book a condo. I checked him out to make sure he was legitimate and he appeared to be. I paid him $1,000 on a condo located at *** White *** BLVD, Navarre Fl XXXXX. When it came time to meet to get the key card, he was "running behind" and of course never showed up and blocked my number. I went to the police station and they have him in their system for doing the same thing to another gentleman on 1/22/2020. I will be attaching all of our correspondence.
I would like a refund and for this thief to be disbarred. He made a tragic situation far more stressful than it was supposed to be. I was escaping an abusive home with 2 children and 2 dogs and was left waiting in the cold with my car packed.
This is a scam that has been going on by someone that is impersonating *** for over 3 months. Unfortunately *** was not dealing with *** from Prestige Realty Group, but rather a scam artist that has stolen his identity. We have reported this to the authorities in the past and we have received over 40 phone calls from other people like ***. Unfortunately *** gave them money but most have called us directly prior to giving and we were able to notify them of the scam before they sent funds.
