Over a series of multiple months, the steps of the adjudication cycle on our claim with the insurance carrier, on your behalf, became more and more complex on this particular claim, with our claim asked to be re-routed to the local state where item was supplied. Eventually, in November 2016, Carefirst informed us that they had paid the claim, but directly to you. As we are an Out of Network provider to your carrier, this can happen often, which we gave you prior notice of by letter, in January 2016, when initially submitting the claim. In these instances, the payment should be forwarded to us, the provider of services.Following this notification of payment from Carefirst, we mailed you a statement of due payment on 11/28/2016, requesting our payment. We work on a process of three statements before sending any debt to a collection agency, with our first letter explaining that if no response is received, further collection action will be taken. We have no intention of collection action unless the three attempts to contact are unsuccessful. I apologize if the wording may hay have been misinterpreted. Although no grace period is offered, we do facilitate installment plans if payment is not immediately possible, as long as contact is made. I apologize for the delay in the time it took to reach conclusion on your claim.
