Review: I hired Precision Marine to add Furuno manufactured electronics to my boat as they are a certified Furuno dealer. They installed the equipment in May. After paying in full there are several issues that came up that need to be rectified. The unit was not installed properly (As confirmed by The Furuno company)and has yet to be fully operational. I have contacted Precision on many occassions and have documented proof to their promises to come and fix the issues. To date, they have not and they eventually stopped returning phone calls and emails. I have called and asked to speak to the owner twice after getting no satisfaction from the employees and he has not gotten on the phone with me nor returned my calls. They just keep taking my information and saying they will get back to me. I have paid over $10,000 for this equipment and expect it to be fully functional. Aside from the money, this is safety related equipment and is critical that it works according to the manufactures specifications. I have not started the legal process to have them fix the problems or get my money back as I had hoped this could be settled outside of the courts but since they are ignoring my requests, I felt it was best to start the process here. Thank You.Desired Settlement: The equipment needs to be fully operational within 2 weeks or I want my money returned.

Response:
We have acknowledged the customers complaint, and have since traveled to the boat and corrected the NMEA0183 data port issue so the system can now recognize heading input from the PG700 sensor to enable radar overlay. We also fixed a leak in the hydraulic system and bled the system free of charge. The entire navigation system, radar, GPS, autopilot, and Satellite TV system are now operating to full factory specifications. There is however an issue with the cartography chip manufactured by C-Map in which the marina Point Of Interest data contains some discrepancies. We have supplied the client with a replacement chip free of charge to see if in fact there was corrupted data on the original, but the problem persists. However, this is unfortunately out of our hands, as we do not program or manufacture the chip, as C-Map is the sole third party cartography provider support by Furuno for the NavNet Vx2 system. This particular issue is out of our po wer, and we have done all we can do. We hope that the client can understand we have nothing but the best intentions, and are willing to provide testimony to C-Map if needed in order to help him find a resolution. With that being said, we hope that that this particular complaint pertaining to Precision Marine Center's service and integrity can be acknowledged as resolved.
