This letter is in response to complaint [redacted], filed by [redacted] on his 2014 Toyota Tundra VIN [redacted] (last four).   [redacted] brought his vehicle in for estimation on 7/28/16. We estimated the damages and all damages estimated from his covered loss were completed on 9/26/16....

  [redacted] contends that there was damage done while in our possession to the headliner, “new” scratches to his vehicle and a cut in his leather. (The complaint does not specify where he contends this cut was made.)   It is significant to note that [redacted] is a painter by trade and this vehicle is used heavily in his occupation and the vehicle came into our repair facility with significant wear and tear obviously from his occupational usage. The vehicle is only two model years old, yet has over 100,000 miles, highlighting the very heavy use this vehicle sustains.   We respectfully and fervently oppose that we did any of the damages that [redacted] contends. The repairs we made did not impact the headliner and we never removed, adjusted or impacted the headliner. In addition, we reviewed the damages at estimation and on pick up and all the damages caused by the covered loss were repaired. It is a heavily used work truck and the remainder of the alleged damages were not caused while at our repair facility.   The repairs we made, as reviewed and estimated for the covered loss, were as follows:   Rear Bumper Rear Lamps Pick up Box Back glass Rear seat (removed and replaced seat mount and seat assembly) – no interaction with headliner and seats fully protected during any removal, replacement. Back power sliding glass Bed liner Exhaust sleeve Rear restraint system (replaced rear seat belt cover) Reset rear carpet Rear door – replaced closure plugs   At no point did we interfere with, change, replace or repair in any fashion, the headliner. With every vehicle we repair, we also clean and detail it. Any contended leather tear was sustained from the heavy daily usage as a work truck and was not caused by our repair facility. Vehicles are always returned to customers clean both interior and exterior as we take a high level of pride in our work.   In addition, when vehicles are picked up, as was the case with [redacted], we go around the vehicle with them, show repairs to ensure their satisfaction with repairs.   Precision Auto Body has been in business for over 65 years and we pride ourselves in completing repairs that exceed customer expectations. We regret that [redacted] has these damages to his vehicle but we strongly assert these damages were not made while in our possession. These appear to be wear and tear damages made outside of our care.   We respectfully request that you deny this complaint as having any merit.
