When the customer brought the truck in to have the damage looked at the business wrote an estimate and was going to use a used gate to cut the cost a little the customer decided to go through the insurance company and so the insurance company wrote a new estimate and it was higher than the first...
because they found some more issues. Truck was fixed as the insurance company told him to from the estimate they wrote up, which was higher than the estimate he wrote up for him before he got the insurance got involved. The customer did not pay the business as the business was paid by the insurance company as insurance claims are handled. The claim as handled properly and as the customer did not pay the business the business does not owe the customer a refund.
The business gave the customer a copy of the write up by the insurance company.

Review: My truck was damaged and I received an estimate for repairs for the amount of $971.65 but the final amount was $1345.79 the exact amount left by the insurance estimater that had come on a different day than I was there. I took the truck to another repair shop previously and received a quote of $927.95 that included an entirely new tail gate but I went with PC&G because I have had other work on different vehicles repaired previously and had been satisfied with their service. When I went in to pick up my truck the billing had been changed to match the amount on the check not the original estimate. [redacted] ([redacted] of the shop )said that the bumper was a new one and an additional cost of $119.00 would be billed to the insurance company (making the total repair $1090.65 in my opinion ). His explanation was that he was giving me a deal if I paid out of pocket but since it went thur the insurance company that he could charge more. That just isn't right.Desired Settlement: Refund of $255.14
