Hired Mr. R of Powers Investments, LLC on a referral from *** to repair a roof & other repairs. He failed to complete job!
I hired Mr. R of Powers Investments, LLC on a referral from *** to repair a roof & other home repairs at my senior citizen first cousin home. He failed to complete the job! In fact, after completing half of the roofing job Mr. R attempted to raise the price because the roof was laid bare and half done. He actually sub-contracted the job out to a sub-contractor who was not proficient in the English language. *** informed me that he misrepresented himself to them and was only authorized to repair floors not roofs. Upon checking Georgia Licensing Board, he does not have a roofing license. Again, he was a referral from ***. He has threatened to place a lien on property. I paid a 2nd contractor to complete the job after Mr. R abandon the roof and left the roof uncovered. An investigation into Powers Investments shows R as a real estate agent and landlord. We were contracted to do a roofing job for Mr.. According to Mr. own admission we gave him the best price out of 3 estimates. Unfortunately after tearing off 2 roofs for Mr., it was discovered that there was an additional roof on one section of the house that would require additional framing and repairs outside of our original agreement. We offered to make these repairs below cost for Mr.. He refused. We offered to roof over the area as is at the same contracted price with the understanding that we could not warranty that section of the house if additional repairs were not made. He refused. Me. *** is a very unreasonable customer. Unfortunately just as there are a small percentage of contractors that try to take advantage of customers - there are also a small percentage of customers that try to take advantage of contractors. Mr *** is the latter. He expected us to pay him to repair his property. He made the statement that "sometimes contractors have to take a loss on a job." We repaired over 2/3 of the roof at a small loss and left the remainder covered so that he could find another contractor to swindle.

Thanks again for your follow up & response from Powers Investment, LLC. However, I am not satisfied with Powers Investments/ R's response. As evidenced by the documents & pictures I provided, R does NOT address half of the issues at hand, e.g. misrepresenting his qualifications to even repair a roof, failure to honor contract price that he authored, leaving the roof open & house uninhabitable. Lastly, repairs to floor & toilet were not honored.
This matter is closed as far as I am concerned. Please do not contact me again regarding this. Thanks
