Staff at this company are outstanding. They kept us informed every step of the way. The installation was scheduled for 10:00 and the installers were on site ready to start at 9:45. These young men worked non-stop until the installation was complete. We are not up and running yet but so far we are extremely impressed with this company.

Find another solar company!
Where to begin. Contract signed 9/24/19. After various problems, install scheduled for 11/21/19. It was to be a two day install. After two days, crew left property damaged with holes in the yard and the cable trenches open. Said they couldn't finish the job due to a design error. They would have to reschedule a completion date. 12/19/19 thru 12/22/19 second crew arrived and still did not complete the installation. More property damage and broken equipment. They would have to reschedule a completion date. 12/31/19 crew arrived and did not do any work. They have to reschedule a completion date. 1/2/20 crew arrived to finish installation more property damage. On 1/10/20 final inspection failed. We have been constantly calling with no resolution. As of 2/7/20 still no completion, however we received a call this morning looking for final payment. Good luck if you choose PowerHome Solar. See review of T.H. if you think this is an isolated incident.

Big mistake! Company is awful with communication and follow through. I have had trouble with both and am now wondering if I will actually save anything or if I was just duped into buying expensive solar panels. I attempted to cancel, of course no one contacted me until to first part of loan was released. I was told it would take up to 12 weeks to install it took 6 months!!! No one ever called or emailed me back to let me know what the hold up was. Then they called to schedule install 3 times, each time I had to talk to someone while I was working to schedule the install again for the same day( why wasn’t I on the schedule either of the first two times) ! Then one of the “crew” members went through my refrigerator and spent a ridiculous amount of time In my bathroom, and opened the door and walked into my teen daughters room twice without knocking because he needed access to the outlet in that room. Each time I had a complaint I was told someone would call me. Nope never talked to anyone!!! Now they scheduled me for the inspection and I told the scheduler I wasn’t home and didn’t have my calendar could she email me the information regarding inspection, did I get an email? NO!!!! So now I have to try to contact someone so I can have an adult home for the inspection. This is the absolute worst mistake I have made as a homeowner. I wish there was a way to get my money back or cancel. I’m so upset about this entire fiasco!

It’s been a few days no surprise I haven’t heard from anyone regarding the poor customer service, poor communication, or what date my inspection is scheduled for. Still Waiting

Excellent and informed installed. What a professional group. I am totally excited to see this product in action. They really took extra care with our insulation too. Great job on clean up you would not know they were ever here.

It took a little while to complete installation, but not their problem. It was due to faulty wiring in our home and it was very difficult to deal with Ameren Missouri for a shut off time. The gentlemen that showed up we were happy with. They were clean cut, friendly, professional, and were ready to answer any questions. The date of the original letter sent from powerhouse was dated 31 Oct 19, and they finally finished on the 23 Dec 19. I can say with out a doubt that none of the time to get from A to Z was their fault. The only thing I can not do is how the system works as we are still waiting for the electric to to approve what was done and replace the meter.

From sales rep to installation crew this is a highly efficient and professional organization. Installation of 17 panels was completed in an 8am- 2pm work day with excellent crew instructions to us as users and no mess left!

26 solar panels were installed less than one year ago with no mention concerning age of roof and assurance they were professionals and there would be no leaks in ceiling. I have in the last few months have had leas in bedroom and in kitchen. I have e-mail everyone that I can think of with no acknowledgement of any kind. They have completely ignored me since start-up

Lied about savings. Multiple failures on install. My new roof is leaking where they installed the solar mounting brackets. System goes down, and their so called monitoring division never catches it. I have to keep checking it every day to make sure it is working. They have such a turnover rate of employees that your problems don’t get solved, because the person that was supposed to be handling the issue leaves the company. Extremely frustrating. My ceilings have water stains, and what looks like mold in at least 4 separate places, and they all line up with the solar brackets. My roof was replaced about 2 months before the solar was installed.

What started as a hope of using clean energy turned into aggressive emails from customer service after we wanted to cancel our first contract within the allotted three days.

In the time after we met with a very nice salesperson, we changed our minds about wanting to include the battery backup with our solar array, so we followed the instructions within the contract to cancel our agreement. We were still in contact with sales to get a new quote without the battery when an email from customer service comes through contradicting the very form from their agreement, saying that an email with the signed paperwork wouldn't be sufficient and that we needed to send an original "wet" signed copy to their office in North Carolina. This happened within about 12 hours of the deadline and we live in Michigan.

After I called and tried to speak to Rhyan, the customer service representative who sent that email, I was told that the same digital signature that I used when signing their agreement was not valid when cancelling the same agreement. If a digital signature is not valid for cancellation, then it must not be valid for the original agreement either, I argued, trying to force some common sense onto the agent.

After another phone call with a different agent following up later and reminding them again to actually read the terms on their own agreement, we were told it was taken care of and we would receive an email confirmation. That email never came, so I am curious to if they think they are going to force us to be a customer. They can talk to my lawyer if that is the case.

This company may do good work, but we never got to that point thanks to an overly aggressive customer service agent who felt the need to try and bully us into keeping our agreement even though we were still in talks with sales at the same time simply trying to remove the battery backup from the system.

Very disappointed and found the entire ordeal unprofessional. The silver lining was that Shawn in sales was very kind and it's unfortunate the team that supports him ruined the potential sale for him.
