Our family signed up for this event based on a flyer that indicated that all food, alcohol, and transportation were included. This makes sense if you have ever been to a resort in Mexico where you go for an all inclusive experience.
Our trip started out with unorganized chaos! Once we arrived at the resort we had to stand in line to get our room numbers. Then we had to stand in line to get our upgraded bands for the concert. Then we had to wait in another line to get taken to our hotel. Then we had to stand in another line at the hotel to get our room keys. 4 hours later and we could finally relax and have a drink at the pool.
We ask the staff at the pool at the food and they tell us we can only get room service given the time of day. We get to our room to order room service and we are told that room service is not included in our package! So hear we are looking around for food and end up at the buffet in which I feel Charla must have set the menu because all we had for 4 days was hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes and really just nothing appetizing. We are in MEXICO! I want tacos, enchiladas, nachos, quesadillas, ceviche and all the amazing food you can only get in Mexico.
So not only was the food not awesome, but our room key never worked. The staff at the resort was not accommodating at all. My cousin had black mold in her room and her fridge never worked. The trip was anything but relaxing especially given all our trips we have had to Mexico as a family.
Now that we are back home we can only assume that because we booked through a third party - Power to exhale, the 3,700 we paid for our room at the resort for two people, covered Charla's expenses as well as her staff. To tell me that I didn't pay for a premium package is a slap in the face. She basically told me "I got what I paid for."
My rating is 1 because of our experience and I hope that if anyone chooses to book a trip with Power to Exhale that you read the fine print and ask a ton of questions. Make sure you know what you are signing up for. Charla tried to tell me that I don't get Charlie Wilson and Dru Hill and all the performers when you book separately. Well no st! However had I went to a concert in my hometown I guarantee you a ticket to a concert with her lineup would be $100 - $200 max per person. So all in all it was not worth the price tag and she didn't follow through on anything she promised to follow through on.
We will never book through power to exhale ever again!
