*******DONT BUY A CAR HERE!*********
I bought a 2016 Ford Fusion SE from this Nissan dealership, after 19 months the engine blow and the radio and navigation system did not work. They have had the car for over a month and the refuse to do anything. They claim to have a lifetime power train warranty but it does cover if your head gasket blows. We are stuck paying for a car that we can not drive and Nissan of Poughkeepsie the so called big store will do nothing so I rate this place 1 star if I could give them zero stars I would. Dont buy a car at this establishment! You will be sorry.

Bought a Chrysler town & country certified pre owned from Poughkeepsie Nissan in June of 2013 since the day I bought this car had nothing but problems with the transmission to the point I was going to lemon law it I was asked not to and given an extended warranty and was told don't worry about it you also have the lifetime power train warranty.... well needless to say my transmission now died they will not honor the warranty because I did not have everyone one of my oil changes at Nissan (way over priced) so 3 years no car and still owe 8000 on my loan thanks Fran !!!!

Review: We bought a Nissan Altima from Poughkeepsie Nissan in 2006. Now we have moved to Florida. We went to change the registration from NY to FL.

Poughkeepsie Nissan made an error on the tilte by stating that there was a lien from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation on our car. We NEVER financed this car from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. We contacted both Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation as well as Poughkeepsie Nissan. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation says that Poughkeepsie Nissan should contact them to correct the error. After making several calls to these two, finally the [redacted] from Poughkeepsie Nissan called Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. We were promised that there will be a lien release letter sent to our address in Florida with a week.

Now it is more than 2 weeks and we still do not have the lien release letter. We contacted POK NISSAN on Tuesday 8/* and were told that the [redacted] is on vacation. We spoke with the [redacted] and he assured us that the lien release letter would be there on Wed.

Today is Thursday 8/* and we are filing this complaint since we have not received the lien release letter. Also the [redacted] did not bother calling us back after we called him, this evening.

We are tired to being given the run around by Poughkeepsie Nissan as well as Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.

We are undergoing terrible hardship since we cannot get this car registered in Florida due to the ERRORS made by Poughkeepsie Nissan in the first place and then their inefficiency in handling customer issues. Why should we have to suffer and undergo hardship due to their absolute inefficiency. We have made numerous attempts to contact them and given them plenty of time to correct their mistake but to no avail. Please help.Desired Settlement: Lien release letter and also pay us for the loss of time away from the job and hardship suffered as a result of their incompetence.

Review: I am the original owner of a 2005 Nissan Murano purchased at Poughkeepsie Nissan. Since I have owned the car, the exhaust system (muffler) has had to be replaced once. One again, at 71113 miles, the muffler has rotted out causing leaks. Poughkeepsie Nissan has replaced the part the in 2009 and there has been 29,000 miles on it since the last time they replaced it and now it has to replaced again. Two exhaust systems within 71113 miles is unheard of. I contacted the dealer and brought in the car for them to look at to do a "Good Faith" replacement of the exhaust again and after talking with several people at their Regional office, they refuse to help. This is a defective exhaust and after owning several brand new vehicles, I have never had to replace my exhaust and had more mileage that my Murano. I did ask them, since the problem is happening almost every 30,000 miles to trade in my vehicle for a used 2006 model, and I would pay the difference between the vehicles and they flat out said we are not helping you.Desired Settlement: I would like them to either repair my exhaust properly so I do not have to get another exhaust in 30,000 miles or let me trade in my vehicle with them for a 2006 used Murano.

Business

Response:

The initial warranty on the 2005 Nissan Murano is 36 months or 36000 miles. The warranty on a replaced part is 12 months or 12000 miles. Poughkeepsie Nissan carries out Nissan's warranty however we do not make up the terms of it. The issue with the exhaust is clearly beyond both warranties that Nissan set forth. We would be happy to try to work out a trade in on a newer vehicle of the customers liking at a fair and reasonable price.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Hello,

I apologize in advance but I am a bit disturbed by my conversation

with Fran at Nissan. All Nissan told me was one excuse after the

other. I was specifically told that if you trade in your vehicle that

there is no guarantee that vehicle will not have many problems of its

own. I was told that if you brought your car into Nissan for all the oil

changes and many many problems I had, they would possibly be able to justify to

Nissan to fix the car. All charges for a simple oil change through Nissan

are EXTREMELY expensive and I have had the same trusting service company work

(Community Car Care) on my car for numerous years for a fraction of Nissan's

cost.

The flanges on the muffler are made of a material that is not made to

last. We did not resolve anything and Nissan is unacceptable as well as their

cars that they will not stand behind, hence the comment that if I PURCHASED a

newer vehicle that is will have problems and "at least I know my car and

don't know what problems a previous car owners car would have".

Nissan is not a company that stands behind their $35,000 vehicles.

Response:

The customer took everything I said completely out of context. The vehicle is almost ten years old and the repairs and maintenance of the vehicle are the responsibility of the customer. When the first exhaust was done it was with 41,000 miles and Nissan paid for the repair despite the car being out of warranty at 36000 miles.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am sorry but it seems we are going to get one lie after the other, very pointless and frustrating! I will not advocate their behavior. At this point it is becoming a useless conversation. Nissan parts are junk and that is about it.

I appreciate you trying to help with this situation but I do not think they will do anything more than continue to lie and deceive. Thank you for trying to help.

Have a great day!

Review: I bought a 2006 Nissan Frontier with 75,000 miles on it in April of 2012. The whole buying experience was a disaster from day one. I responded to an ad online for the vehicle initially and showed up the next day for a test drive. The trim of the frontier and color were completely wrong to start with. I moved on and went with it anyway because it wasn't that big of a deal. We went for a test drive and it seemed like a decent vehicle. I inspected this truck for a good hour in the parking lot from bumper to bumper. I brought up a few things that were wrong with the truck. Rusting on the back bumper which wasn't very severe but it was rusting through and a concern to me. The sales guy brushed it off and said they can sand down and refinish the bumper for me before I picked it up. That never happened the [redacted] wouldn't approve it. Next I found some damage in one of the wheel wells that was bent from the previous owner. They said they would bend this back or replace the part before pick up. They did in fact "fix" this and by "fix" I mean the lot attendant took a hammer and smacked it straight chipping paint and bending the inside. They didn't even touch up the bare metal afterwords. The final problem I found was some oil on the front of the truck around the oil filter. The sales person assured me the truck just had an oil change and it must have been a sloppy oil job. I brushed it off because it appeared to be coming from the oil filter area and he assured me they go over these vehicle from front to back. He also told me it came with a lifetime drivetrain warranty that cover everything as far as the engine, axles, differentials, transmission, torque converter, starter, alternator, and everything in between besides wearable items like the battery and spark plugs. The only catch was I had to bring my truck in for an oil change every 3000 miles and a tire rotation every 6000. He explicitly told me "i could blow the engine up" and all I had to do was come in and "pay the $100 deductible and get a new engine". Fair enough right? After we worked that all out I was told the truck would be ready and detailed on a Tuesday. So I had my mom take a day off from work and drive me in so I could pick it up and go! Nope that didn't happen! The truck was not detailed and the guy who works with DMV on getting the plates and registration was off that day and I couldn't pick it up because it didn't have plates or a registration. I was told this when I had arrived at the door. They didn't even bother to call me in the morning so I didn't waste my time. They then told me to come back the next day and assured me it would be ready and I could pick it up and be on my way when I got there. I show up the next day and the vehicle is still not detailed they were finishing it as I arrived. Sure whatever ill be late for work no big deal! I finally get the vehicle and drive it for two weeks. What do you know the TPMS light comes on. I bring it in because all tires are at the right PSI and they tell me they will reset the light and I should be good to go. Ok sounds good! 2 weeks later the light comes on again! I drive it back in and they do the same thing they reset the light and tell me it shouldn't be a problem! A month later it comes on again! I go in and tell them I want this fixed and I don't want to come back. They find out one of the sensors was bad and they replaced it for free. Fine that works for me! Next I bring it in for my first oil change and they notify me that my truck is leaking oil from the front of the engine. So much for a sloppy oil change huh?! They tell me its not that big of a deal and to hold off to see if it gets worse or stops. I say fine. About 2 months later(about 3 months after purchasing truck) the truck is dead in my driveway! Wont start and won't idle. The check engine light comes on and notifies me that my crankshaft position sensor is bad. I bring the truck to nissan and they confirm this. They tell me it will be $280 and they won't cover it under warranty because its electrical and not covered! Ive had the truck for less then 6 months and its already broken! I end up buying the $40 part and doing the sensor in my driveway in less then 30 mins. The truck now runs fine for now. I go in for the next couple of oil changes and they don't mention the oil leak so I assume its not happening anymore or it was fixed with a different tech doing the oil change and maybe tightening the filter tighter. Nope about 3-4 months later the leak has gotten so bad that I have puddles in my driveway and I lose about a half a quart to a full quart between oil changes. So I bring it in and they tell me its $500 to fix because the front main seal is leaking badly and the warranty won't cover it because the warranty doesn't cover seals!!!! We end up talking the price down to $300 and I have it done. The car now doesn't leak for now.... Around the same time I start to hear a whining noise coming from my transmission. I start to lose all power in the truck and it starts driving terrible. The whine progressively gets worse and I end up taking the truck in the next day. They can't reproduce the sound and tell me its a loose exhaust heat shield. They tell me they reclamped the heat shield but I went under the truck and they ended up removing the whole heat shield!!! I drive it for a couple more days and it happens again and again. The whining has now gotten louder and happens more often. I bring it in again and leave the truck there all day and over night. So now I have no truck for two days how will I get to work or class? Oh ill just rent a vehicle from them at full price! Do I get a complimentary rental for all the trouble I'm having with the vehicle? Nope. Do I at least get a discount? Nope. So I come back the second day and the techs couldn't reproduce the noise and don't notice the power loss?!?!?!?! So two days wasted and a rental for nothing. I have currently gone back multiple times about the problem with no solution. I even stopped by on my lunch break and kept my truck running in the parking lot and had both techs come out and confirm the noise which they say they have never heard before on any frontier. But believe its the torque converter going bad or the flex plate is cracked which makes sense due to the research I did online. I then go back to see what we can do to rectify the problem and the only thing they can do is drop the transmission for $500 to see if the problem is covered by warranty..... I cannot afford a $500 diagnosis fee.... I bought a $17,000 dollar truck so I wouldn't have these problems. Next up I get a check engine light for P0455 mass evap leak. I go in and buy a nissan gas cap at $30 bucks to try and start small and hope the 8 year old gas cap seal failed nope. Code comes back. I then go in and seems the next item to look at is the evap purge valve at $150 for the part and around $100 labor. This is then not covered under warranty of course like everything else. I am now at the point where my inspection is up and I cannot get it inspected because my check engine light is on. So I am in a 2006 frontier with under 90,000 miles with a bad transmission and a evap leak that is preventing me from getting it inspected. But I still have to go in every 3000 miles for those oil changes to keep the lovely lifetime drivetrain warranty that has covered absolutely nothing! And I am required to go to this dealer for the service when they won't even good faith warranty anything with all the problems I have been having from day one. So for my advice avoid this used car lot at all costs! My mom bought a 07 maxima and is having just as much problems.Desired Settlement: I would like the vehicle repaired. I would like the transmission repaired and the evap leak repaired at no cost to me.

Review: I drove my 2009 Nissan Altima to [redacted] for power failure. [redacted] from [redacted] stated he could not fix my vehicle and suggested he tow it to Nissan of Poughkeepsie. My car was placed under [redacted]'s name at Nissan without my knowledge. There were several attempts to have the invoice from Nissan placed in my name and all were denied without explanation. Nissan refused to speak to me about my vehicle or provide estimates. After four weeks my vehicle was still undrivable. No answers were provided to me. I decided to have my vehicle towed from Nissan to another dealer for repair. Nissan provided an 858.00 invoice that had no taxes included and was in [redacted]'s name. The invoice also listed a crankshaft sensor charge twice. The invoice was paid by me with a check (ck #[redacted]) in full. The next day another dealer explained my car battery was dead, in need of replacement and I needed the same two sensors that Nissan supposedly replaced. I stopped payment on the check. I now have a collection agency representing Nissan continuously calling me. I did not give Nissan any authorization for repairs because the service manager [redacted] asked me not to contact them and refused all attempts for information and estimates. My concerns are the lack of knowledge Nissan provided me in the four weeks my vehicle was there. Since my car has now been repaired it has come to light that the said repairs completed on my vehicle are questionable. Not to mention the legality of the bill in general. (i.e. no taxes on the invoice, parts being charged double, lack of explanation for any services, Nissan's refusal to speak to the owner of a vehicle or place an invoice in their name etc...)Desired Settlement: Resolution of bill. Investigation for possible fraudulent business practices. Harassment from collection agency to cease.

Review: On Dec **, 2013 I got a loan for a Saturn outlook. I was told by the sales person that the truck was checked and in perfect conditions. 1 wk later my [redacted] called for me to see if I could return the truck and was told no. I believe that I was sold a lemon for a vehicle. I have had the truck in for service several times. The last one was for the electric seat that moved back while I was driving, to a point where I could almost not touch the pedals. I scheduled an appt to bring the truck in and while on the way there the service air bag light came on. They were not able to fix that I was told. The seat was fixed after $980.00 because the module was not covered. After picking up the truck from having the seat fixed, the heated seat were not working. I again brought it in and was told that they did not have the means to see what really was or went wrong. That I would have to bring it to a Chevy service area. this is ridiculous. I am a divorce mom trying to keep up with thing and pay my bill on time to have to go thru something like this. This is the worst experience I have ever had with buying a vehicle. I really believe that this truck was sold to me because everyone else knew that is was not worth it. I had no idea. They took advantage of me. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone. It also seems like information is not properly passed on to each other. why am I going thru this mess? why are these people dishonest. I had not idea the mess I was getting into.Desired Settlement: I would like to trade for something newer and with no problem. Also something with less electronics for the same price or less.

Review: March **, 2014

To Whom It May Concern,

On January **, 2014, I brought my 2007 Nissan Altima into [redacted], NY for an oil change. Additionally I asked the service representative to check the brakes.

When the oil change was completed the service representative informed me that I would need front brake pads and rotors resurfaced at a cost of $310.00 and rear brake pads and rotors $520.00. When I would drive the vehicle the brakes responded as though they were in good working order and there were no grinding or screeching sound to indicated the front or rear brake pads where worn. However, occasionally the brake light on the dash board would flicker. I didn't have the recommended brake work done and left the dealership.

On January **, 2014, I brought the vehicle to a local mechanic in [redacted], NY. I told the mechanic I need a brake job and requested he check out the front and rear brakes. I did not mention Poughkeepsie Nissan’s recommendations at this time. I left the car with the mechanic and went home. Approximately 30 minutes later the mechanic called and asked “why do you think you need brakes, It looks to me that you have about another 10,000 miles to go on the pads”. At that point I mentioned Nissan recommended brake work. He said “I would love to do the brake job, that’s how I make my living; but you don’t need it at this time”. I should mention he didn't charge me for inspecting the brakes.

This is my second Nissan Altima and I've always been satisfied with the cars and service to this point.

I’m bringing this incident to your attention because I believe “no one’s bottom line is more important than the company’s reputation”.

Sincerely,Desired Settlement: I brought this matter to the attention of Corporate Nissan Customer Services. I did not hear back from Customer Service and after approximately two months I followed up with another phone call. I was told that the dealership was contacted and the matter was settled. I asked if the allegations were founded or unfounded. The Customer Service agent said he didn't have that information. I asked for the telephone number of the Nissan department that could tell me how this matter was settled. The agent said he did not have this information. I would like for the Revdex.com to look into this matter to make sure this matter was properly handled.

I'm a senior citizen and would like to make sure this was an isolated incident and senior citizens are not be targeted for mechanical repairs not needed.

Response:

ON 1/**/14 The customer brought his 2007 Nissan Altima to our service department requesting to have an oil change, and informed us of two other issues with their vehicle. 1- the tire pressure light on the dashboard was on and also that the brake warning light would come on and off. After inspection of the vehicle we found all the brake pads to be extremely low which could make the brake fluid low as well. Upon inspecting and measuring the brake pads we found them to have between 1 and 2 millimeters of thickness left. At that time we reccomended replacing the pads and gave the customer the estimate. I have documentation of the technicians measuring of the pads. We stand by our reccomendation

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

I based my original complaint based on the opinion of an independent mechanic that differs from Nissan. However I don't wish to pursue this any further.

Sincerely,

I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone. I purchased a BMW from them in March and it had nothing but problems. I had to freak out on the dealership to get them to take the car back in and fix it after two times it had to be towed back to the dealer for repairs in the first month. The salesmen are terrible. They took advantage of me and the fact that I was young girl. I was warned about this place and should of listened. All reviews show its a horrible dealer to buy from. The second time my car got towed, Frank Pomerico was standing there talking horrible things whether it be about me or another customer it was disturbing. I tried to contact them to trade the car back in, not only were they completely unhelpful, my emails to be contacted have been ignored about 10 times. I have proof of everything.
