Review: We received an estimate for a certain % of a loan rate at the date we had a ratified contact and were approved. We are first time home buyers and our rate was not locked in either date. There was only a phone conversation between the lender & the wife where the locking of the rate was not properly explained and our rate was not locked in. When the rates went up, then we were informed we could lock into a lower rate if one became available.

The lender and his manger refuse to admit a mistake was made (that our rate was not locked in as soon as we were approved) & nothing is in writing & they cannot help us in any way except if we want to buy additional points.Desired Settlement: Honor the rate we agreed to when we were approved.
