On, April 5, 2019, my vehicle's engine started shaking and stalking and the check engine light was breaking off and on, so I took my vehicle to Portland Automotive. The mechanic hook up his computer diagnostic device and told me my fuel gauge was showing up as faulty. I told him my fuel gauge has been broken for the last two years, and that was not what I wanted repaired.
he took my vehicle on a test drive and he said he noticed the shaking and stalking and that he believed that I probably got bad gas, so he was going to replace the fuel tank and the spark plugs and he would also fix the fuel sensor and check engine light at a charge of $750.00. I paid the $750.00, and also gave him a $20.00 bill, as he said he would have to put gas in my car, once he replaced the fuel tank. On April 12, 2019, I received a call that my vehicle was ready. When I got to the repair shop, the mechanic explained that when he started the repair work, he noticed that a coil was burned out and needed replacing, so instead of performing his original repair work, he changed the burnt out coil, and replaced three sparks plugs in the front of the vehicle and put a fuel additive in my fuel tank for the bad gas., but the change in scope also added up to $750.00.
My vehicle ran smoothly for 3 days, then it started jerking again, so I called the mechanic and he said he would change the other three spark plugs at no charge so I took my vehicle back. When I picked up my car the second time, I drove about 1 mile and my engine started jerking again, I called the mechanic and he said it was probably the bad fuel and to drive until I added more gas. My vehicle has never stopped jerking and last week the check engine light came back on, but when I called the mechanic, he's saying my car isn't running right because I need another coil replaced and that will fix the problem.
My Nissan died on I 205 and I tow to this shop on January of 2017 and had a Fuel pump replace by Portland Automotive. After driving for less than 10 months my Titan has an engine light came on. I took the truck for a smoke test and was told its a leak at a fuel pump area. I took back to Portland Automotive and was told that Fuel pump was not an issue but a Canister has gone bad. He replace a Canister for another $450.00 but still not solving the problem. I had another smoke test from different shop and took a Video then went back to Portland Automotive to show him he still refuse to fix the problem and trying to have me fix somethings else.
