Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:The claims made by the business are completely falseI asked for estimates on all workEstimates were not providedConveniently the estimates were not provided on the work in disputeWhere they provided estimates we have agreed upon terms.
I never said I would be at the shop on a daily basis to assist in the work, this is an out and out lie on their partI contracted them to preform repairs and they failed to do so.
There was a substantial amount of work done that was never authorizedThis work was performed without my knowledge or consent
The credit I was given was for charges that had exceeded an estimate, I was given for rigging and sail workNot engine work
The engine work that was contracted has yet to be completed, they charged over hours of labor for an engine swap that under the worst of conditions should not take over hours to complete.
The engine work they did preform has to mostly be redone because it was done by incompetent workers
Why are they even being given an opportunity to explain when they did not even have the courtesy to respond to Revdex.com in the time allotted for response?Sincerely,*** ***
This letter is in response to complaint ID #***
Mr*** contacted us to perform specific services to a vessel he had recently purchased. After the vessel arrived in our yard, Boatyard staff found structural defects that, according to Mr.***, were not disclosed in his most recent
survey, and the vessel was not in as good ofcondition as he believed
At the time of scheduling the service, Mr*** advised the yard that he would be on site andparticipate in the work on a daily basisMr*** did not assist in the repairs, andchecked repair status by phone and emails, visiting the yard several timesWe providedestimates as requestedMr*** approved the work to be done through signing workorders, or authorizing work via email
The boatyard made significant cash outlays for repairs of this vessel based on the signed workordersAt the point when Mr*** disputed the invoice and refused payment, the Porthalted work until the matter could be resolvedIn an effort to please him, we credited $8,100from the original invoice and advised Mr*** to have an independent vendor complete hisrepairs
Thank you for this opportunity to respond
