On Tuesday (July 28th,2020), I expressed interest in the vehicle offered for sale by Porsche of Jackson. Spoke to *** who is the General Manager (GM). He insisted that I leave a fully refundable deposit of $1000 as I am traveling out of state. I hesitated initially and asked him if there are any issues in the car at lock to be transparent. He said, he will run the car through his shop and let me know.
After the inspection came, there were lots of issues:
1. Drive belt needed replacement
2. Oil leaks
3. Front and Rear Rotors needed replacement
4. Air Filter needed replacement.
He provided a quote for over $1300 for the replacement of just Rotors and Drive Belt. As the car needed so much work, I decided to not proceed and told Mr. on July 29th that I am not interested as the car needs a lot of work.
His color changed and he became a totally different person and said that I pay for his time. Was it discussed more I left a deposit? No. Was it written anywhere that I signed, No.
On July 30th, I called 10 times on his cell, dealership, but didn't hear back. On July 31st, he called back said he will keep $500. I asked why, he didn't provided any reason and said, this is what is going to do.
This is absolutely BAD business pracitce and I don't want other consumers to be victom of this and have Revdex.com resolve this issue on my behalf. I would like to ask that Mr. pay for all the stress, unethical business practice, and unauthorized way of keeping my deposit.
He has still not refunded my deposit and kept the entire $10000 while being extremely COLD.
Please get this resolved ASAP.
Thanks.
Regards
Mr. called the dealership a couple times towards the end of July and expressed interest to purchase our 07' Lexus ls460. After several walk around videos he asked many questions and went back and forth on what he would pay until we came to an agreement on price. I told him I had a handful of customers interested in the vehicle and one that was planning on coming by later that afternoon (July 28th). Being out of state he asked what it would take to hold the vehicle until he could purchase it on the weekend (July 31st). We decided $1,000 was fair to hold the vehicle, so I had my sales guys call their customers and explain we had a deposit in house and the vehicle was sold. Mr. then asked for another multi point inspection with our master tech (Paid my tech for 2 hours of his time) after reviewing he even wanted to talk to my technician. I let them talk for over 30 mins and discussed due to time the drive belt could be replaced but was still in good condition and the all four rotors were causing a slight vibration and would recommend replace them (I mentioned this to him the first time we talked and there was no oil leaks). Mr. then asked for me to call and get a quote form Lexus store for parts and labor, so we put together a quote and discounted labor and the parts were at the my cost. Mr. felt the $1,300 was fair but had to think about it over night and would let me know in the morning but was for sure coming for the car. He mentioned that he knew a used car tech at home town that could do it cheaper the next day and tried beating me down on price. After a short discussion and not coming off our competitive pricing for the maintenance he said if you fix the car I'll buy it. I told him I would not take care of the repairs so he then asked for his deposit back and requested it paid in full. I felt due to time and pushing customers off the car that the dealership was owed something and asked if $150 was fair for the inspection and said no and wanted a full return. After feeling mistreated and that our time wasn't worth $150 by Mr., I moved on.
