If you are putting in a pool, do your homework on installers. This contractor has very poor consumer communication. I could not get this contractor to call me back for several weeks. After several failed attempts his lack of professionalism caused me to return my pool from the place I had purchased it from. I then purchased a pool from a competitor "on greenbay rd in kenosha" that has one installer put only his pools he sells in. Had my pool up in two weeks and they kept me informed when they couldnt come due to weather.A+ for this contractor. confronted the pool wizard when he was installing my neighbors pool, he had stated that when the season starts he doesnt answer that "phone" no more. Never heard a business that switches phones during their season. After calling multiple pool contractors, found that this contractor works with multiple pool stores. He also stated he had sent my deposit back to me. Which I stated I never received and he stated he would check in to it. That was 6 weeks ago. Buy your pool from a pool house that has installers that only put their pools in. This gentleman needs some classes on how to be a professional. C- for this installer. Don't be fooled by the Large packet he sends you. It may look professional, but that's all it is, looks.
The owner is very personable, honest-- always onsite throughout work. His crews are comprised of all college kids and teachers, a higher quality of labor than was expected. Work was excellent and timely on our above-ground installation.
Pool installation review.
1. Didn't meet schedule. Did not call or show when originally scheduled. Had to call and email several times to get a response.
2. My pool and pump and filter instructions were left in my yard to blow around in the wind. I need these instructions to have knowledge on the operation of the equipment. I called and talked to [redacted], he wanted to argue about the instructions instead of listening.
3. Top rail for pool frame was not in place. I was able to move it in place while filling pool.
4. No pool water, I asked for the pool to be filled so that I did not have to fill it with my well pump. [redacted] said the pool water drivers quit and they were behind. Ok well if properly scheduled the water would have been there and they would have been able to set the top pool frame as it filled.
5. All connections at the pump hoses leaked including the return on the pool. Teflon tape is recommended in the instructions.
6. [redacted] showed up for a couple hours on the last day to get into the pool by climbing the side into the pool and denting the side rail. He admitted to it on the phone and said he would come out and look at it.
7. My $100 deposit was not taking off the bill or refunded.
8. I wished [redacted] would have let me know how the pool was to be installed. My yard is fairly level but had to go 8inches lower on one side. This is a metal pool which can not be buried.
Review: Pool was installed as per contract, cash was paid upon completion. The following day, I had to go under our pool deck to get the model and serial number of the pump to submit for warranty, and hidden between the sand filter and pump was the plastic spanner wrench, broken in two pieces. I contacted [redacted], the owner, to explain what I had found. He said that he would talk to his crew and get back to me.
I called him, as several days passed, and he informed me that neither he, nor his crew had broken it, although Pool Wizards opened the box containing the filter, and spanner wrench, and used it to install the valve.
When asked why it would be hidden between the filter and pump broken if it was still intact when they were finished installing the valve, I could not get a straight answer.
This item can be purchased for $20 or less. If I would have thought that this may occur, I would have held $20 out of our final payment.Desired Settlement: Replace the broken spanner wrench.
Consumer
Response:
A new, or at least usable spanner
wrench mysteriously appeared in the same place as the broken one was.
Problem has been corrected.
Thank you.

This is our second pool we've had installed. Pool Wizards was an absolute delight to work with. The communication line was always open and the installation was perfect. He recommended a few products we didn't know about that would help our pool last even longer and protect the pool. I would highly recommend them to everyone. They have installed 3 pools for other friends and a neighbor who recommended them as well. It was an absolute great experience and the pool looks amazing.
Very good place worth the money. very good workers , owner seems to be very nice person to deal with. Very Happy with their work. They clean -up after they are done.
