This complaint has already been addressed and satisfactorily resolved with the complainant.
However,  As explained to the patient, we are a walk-in clinic -  that simply means that we see patients without an appointment and all that they have to do is walk in and register. ...

This has nothing to do with the type of clinic that we are (there are walk in family practice clinics, pediatric clinics, urgent care clinics, etc.) - we are an urgent care facility and have multiple signs posted on the building, and even have it in our company name . - we inform patients that their co-pays will be at the urgent care level which typically is a little higher than their primary care physician but less than an ER co-pay .   We are in network with his insurance carrier and they set the co-pay amounts that the patient is responsible for based upon the policy that is between the patient and the carrier.  We did charge him the $25 co-pay on both visits, but his insurance plan later sent an EOB (explanation of benefits) that he has a $75 co-pay for any urgent care clinic except for CONCENTRA urgent care clinics which are owned by his insurance company - this was not readily apparent from the online site that is used to verify insurance and co-pays, deductibles, etc.  Because we did only charge him the $25 initially, we agreed to waive the $50 additional co-pay required by his insurance carrier for those  visits as a goodwill measure.
