Western Judicial Services is a drug and alcohol counseling center. The claimant was attending groups at our facility in [redacted] , AZ. She had paid one group in advance in the amount of $25.00. The client dropped out of group and asked for a refund of $25.00. We waived the... administrative fee of $35.00 in order to give this client a full refund. A check was issued shortly after she had requested the refund. It was sent to the address she provided, which we believe was her brother's home. She since moved with no forwarding address. After a couple weeks the client called and asked where her refund was and she was advised it had been mailed to the address on file. She was also advised it is our Company Policy not to reissue refund checks for thirty days. We must first stop payment on the check which costs the Company $35.00. After approximately thirty days the client called back and was told the Director of Operations was on vacation and she would have to call the following week. The Director is the only person able to sign on the account. She has since been mailed another check for $25.00, when if fact the $35.00 administrative fee was waived and the company paid the stop payment fee of $35.00 as an act of good faith.
