Patrick [redacted] has been doing my taxes for the last years, I would not trust anyone elseHe is quick and knows what he is doing.I know if I ever lose a tax year that he has a back up copyI tell all of my friends to go to himHis prices are extremely reasonable
Based upon a recommendation, we used them to complete our non-profit taxes for the 2014-calendar year Accountant was very slow to get the taxes completed and had many errors on the first draft Finally completed them and sent him the signed copy as directed I have sent many messages over the last months to verify the taxes were accepted and got no response Today the IRS notified me they were never submitted!
I utilized this service for taxes and payroll (same owner) for tax year and payroll for Qand QDuring the tax cycle multiple issues occurredFirst, the taxes were inaccurateI was sent a follow up bill from the IRS with an adjusted paymentThis is obviously the largest infraction of business trustHe did not redo the tax forms or verify any of this when I asked his what the bill was aboutHe became defensive and went radio silentI then received a notice indicating the S-corp filing was filled out incorrectly and that my tax status was inaccurateThis was also met with radio silenceNo resolution
Second, payroll issues also occurredHe help my funds in his own escrow without depositing for IRA and 529sThough we later found issues with the 529, he held the funds for months on end with no movementI had to issue an ultimatum before he would take actionI lost 25% of my IRA investment capability in based on his lag-behind timing
At this point, both services were having trouble and I informed them I was going to move to another service starting July 1, Again met with radio silenceThe new services asked for digital copies of my taxes, payroll tax filing, etcWe spent weeks trying to get these excel spread sheets and tax copy from themThey agreed to send them and never didThis became a cost to me since the new services had to spend billable time to recreate the tax records for Q1/Qpayroll taxes and verify with the state things had been doneThey had been filed incorrectly
My final note is that apart from the inaccurate, unreliable service, that there was an air of rudeness and unprofessional demeanor
I wish them well in the future and hope these negative reviews will help them understand they do not operate in a vacuumAnd perhaps this may help their customer service efforts in the future

We have utilized Patrick Musgrave's services since In addition to a large number of glaringly obvious grammatical errors, A LOT of inexcusable errors - our employees' tax papers being sent to other people, the tax papers of other company's and individual's being sent to us, etc - that we should never have let slide, we recently (April 2014) noticed a lot of money was taken out along with payroll taxes that hasn't ever been explainedIn fact, he seems to be refusing any contactThen there was the fact that those pesky taxes he said he filed - and gave us copies of - never managed to get to the IRSBut the oddest thing of all is the fact that he won't just release an unlocked backup of the QuickBooks that we accessed through himIt's almost as though there's something he's hiding
Ms*** came in to the My Accountant of Indiana office, on February 12, to have her taxes filedBoth her Federal and State returns were completedThe Federal return was filed electronicallyThe State return, however, was not eligible for electronic filingThe State of Indiana has a
rule that any time a W-has the same amount being withheld for any of the two withholding categories (federal, state, or county)The tax return must be paper filedMs*** has a W-that showed the same amount of withholding tax being withheld by state and countyThis situation required that a paper return be filed. The return was mailed to the State of Indiana on February 13, Once the return left our office, we no longer have any control over what happensIt is entirely up to the State of Indiana to process the return, and send the refundOn every occasion that Ms*** contacted our office to inquire about her refund, we explained that a paper filed return will take a minimum of to weeks to processWe made several attempts to obtain the status of Ms***' return from the State of Indiana, unfortunately, there was no detailed information availableThe only answer we received was "the return is being processed"
My Accountant of Indiana did prepare and file the tax return properly for Ms***The problem is with the Indiana Department of RevenueI am wiling to return $of her fee, which is the amount I charge for preparing a state return, as a gesture of good faithSincerely,
