I have tried to to cancel my membership due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have recently move away from Temple City and your gym will no longer work for my needs.

I emailed the email address on the website to cancel my membership March 20th, 2020 and was responded with:

As each Planet Fitness is an independently owned and operated franchise, this office has limited access to a member's information, including billing. We advise you to contact the manager of your home club for information regarding your account.

I called back June 29th when I heard they were open and they gave me an email address to respond to to cancel the membership. I have sent 2 emails with no response.

I was a happy customer that would happily recommend the gym and rejoin another time but am am now frustrated with the cancellation procedures. I'm sure that it could be easily done on the app or website if you chose to make that available but I'm sure your company would like to use sales tactics to get people to stay instead so you make it very hard to cancel.

I find that not fair and think that it is wrong that it seems like you are forcing people to come in to cancel membership in person during a health pandemic.
