My name is Gary W[redacted], and I am the Regional Manager that oversees operations at the Cross Lanes, WV location. The member's complaint is without merit as this is not an accurate account of the way the events have transpired. The member did come to our location to inquire about...
cancelling on 09/07/16. - It is documented within our membership database that the member came in to speak with a team member about cancelling her account on the morning of 09/07/16. - Jackie Y[redacted] was the team member that helped the member and informed her of her membership agreement having a 12 month minimum term that required a buyout fee of $58.00 for early termination. - When the member informed us that a medical issue was the cause of her cancellation request, her personal information was taken for a follow-up call. This was also documented within our membership database.- It is documented within our membership database that Kelia B[redacted], the club manager, made the follow up call before 3pm on the afternoon of 09/07/16. The manager noted that she would reach out to her supervisor to seek a resolution.- It is documented within our membership database that we cancelled her membership on the same day of her request once approved by myself. While there is no way to link the member's unfortunate circumstance to our facility, we tried to accommodated the member by waiving her buyout fee with hopes of her returning once healthy.- In regards to the member's lock/locker, it is part of our gym etiquette that members are to take their locks off when they leave the facility to allow others to use them. We did cut the member's lock off and stored all of her belongings inside of a 45 gallon can liner away from the access of other patrons. Her belongings were never put in the trash and all of her items were returned to her.Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Additional documentation is available upon your request. Thanks!Gary W[redacted]Regional Manager

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]I never received a call back from anyone to whether or not the cancelled my membership. I even stopped by and the manager at the location said she would have the district manager call me to speak with me. No phone call. I appreciate the cancellation and the waiver of the fees but I do believe my medical bills should be paid for by Planet Fitness. I got MRSA from their facilities. Believe me...I had no plans on cancelling my membership until I had to deal with a baseball sized access on my leg/buttocks. I couldn't walk for 4 days and even had to miss work because of it. Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful until this happened. I got a highly contagious skin disease. I was brave enough to come forward. That is extremely painful and embarrassing for someone...not everyone will come forward on something like that. I had to deal with this for 3 and a half weeks before it healed.
