Review: My car on 10/*/13. On 10/**/13 the oil light came on the car while driving in [redacted]. The car was pulled into the nearest Valvoline (approximately 5 miles after the light came on) I was informed by the manager ([redacted]) at that location the engine had seized due to no oil. [redacted] speculated that the cap had not been put on tightly resulting in it falling off and the engine running out of oil. [redacted] provided me with his DM's name and the name of the manager that runs the Mount Kisco shop [redacted]. [redacted] informed me that my car was being taken to a local auto shop for investigation and I needed to deal with [redacted] from Mt Kisco. [redacted] stated that there was nothing he could do until Monday with the car. I explained that I was 45 miles from home. He told me that I would have to find my own way home. I asked for his DM's name and number. [redacted] gave me the name and refused to give me the number stating that it was the weekend. I asked [redacted] who the regional was and [redacted] told me to call the corp. office in Hartford. On Monday morning [redacted] called me and informed me that Valvoline would be replacing the engine in my car and told me to call the shop myself to follow up on the repairs. I asked [redacted] about the rental car at that time. [redacted] reassured me that all expenses would be taken care of the company was at fault. I was called on Friday 10/**/13 and informed that my car would be ready for pick up on Saturday. I asked [redacted] if he could have the car driven to Mt. Kisco due to the fact that I had to drop the rental car off. [redacted] told me no just drop it off in Poughkeepsie, pick up my car, and bring the bill to Valvoline Mt. Kisco and it would be reimbursed. The bill was hand delivered on 10/** followed up on 10/** I was told that it was submitted. 11/* followed up again and was told the bill had not been brought in. I asked ** to look into and he called back stating the bill was submitted incorrectly and I would not be reimbursed for the full amount. When I questioned I was given an 800 # to callDesired Settlement: I would like full reimbursement for the rental car. I rented a toyota corolla for the best price I could find on a Sunday. I drive a toyota camry and felt that the corolla was comparable. I understand that mistakes happen and the person who worked on my car made a mistake however it is not fair to ask me the consumer to pick up the cost of a rental when Valvoline is admittedly at fault here.

Response:
My name is [redacted] and I am the Operations Manager for Valvoline Instant oil change.
Your file came across my desk, and after review and discussion with my colleagues, I wanted to offer to pay the remainder of your cost of alternate means of transportation. I tried to call you at the numbers that were attached to the file today, but I didn't get through to you.
By my calculations, have is what I propose to resolve this matter.
you incurred a cost of $603.90- the amount that we've already reimbursed of $240.00= a remainder of $358.00.
I submitted a refund from today in the amount of $358.90 to our customer service department.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me either by phone or email.
Respectfully submitted,
