Pioneer Meats

Would give this place negative stars if possible! Started with an email that was received stating that my product would not shipped until after thanksgiving. Replied stating that was ok, but how about a discount for next time? Reply from "Tamara" was "I am sorry that we can not control FedEx ground delivery or when customers place orders during Holiday weeks." Snippy response to say the least! Never stated I needed it for thanksgiving, but their controller "Steven" replies stating he finds her response to be appropriate and tells me that asking for a discount is "taking the low road." Not sure what they feel customer service should be up in Birmingham, MI, but in an age where businesses should be begging for our hard earned money, DO NOT GIVE this place a thought!

I received a five pound bag of pig wings that were suspicious looking when they arrived. They were old and the meat was bad. I plan to call them Monday but don’t expect any response or correction for the problem.
I would NEVER recommend them or will I ever use them again. I have a problem with vendors who simply don’t care about their customers. Very disappointing

The plastic sleeves used for my elk burger had tears/cuts in it exposing some of the meat. Brian said this was due to his supplier giving him an inferior product. However, he knew this was the case and chose to use them any way for ALL elk meat customers. I asked him if the meat will freezer burn and be wasted, his response: “yes, it will burn and be wasted but there is nothing I can do about it”. In addition, they charged me a $50 "cleaning fee" saying the meat had too much hair in it. I disagree, but it was hypocritical that the boxes my meat arrived in had chunks of meat in the bottom and pieces of waste meat stuck to most of the meat packages. I was charged $511 to ship 188lbs (meat, boxes, and ice). He told me he gets a 40% discount at FedEx. I entered the exact information at Fedex.com and the total was $599. After a 40% discount, that would have been $359.44. He quickly backpedaled and said that the discount only applies to certain items. I expressed my concerns in a very nice manner, but Brian told me he would not refund any money and to just "mark my complaint on the calendar". In addition, he makes up for his "best prices in Montana" with heavy shipping charges (don’t let him fool you, he charges more than his cost), inferior final product, and poor customer service. I will NEVER use nor recommend this place again.
