Pinnon's Meats ran an advertisement in the [redacted] Star Newspaper Sunday May 10th. One item...

in the ad was ground chuck $2.77 a lb (with the purchase of 5 lbs or more.) The ad should have ran ground chuck for $3.77 a lb (with purchase of 5lbs or more.) We made a mistake I called the Register Star Monday morning and a retraction ad was ran Tuesday morning with the corrected price $3.77 a lb. I think that it was Monday or Tuesday. A gentleman came in with the coupon to buy 10 lbs of ground chuck for the $2.77 a lb price . It was explained to him that there had been a mistake in the paper and that the sale price is $3.77 a lb. The gentleman then said "That is not my problem" and that "We MUST honor the advertised mistaken price." I told him if I did that then Pinnon's would be losing money. Again he said "That is not my problem" I told him "If a new corvette was advertised for $49,000 and it was printed in the paper for $490.00 that they would have to sell the car for that price. (He had no reaction) Then he proceeded to say "if we did not sell the ground chuck fpr $2.77 a lb he would call the B.B.B. I looked at him and said "if you think we ran an ad to mislead or bait & switch the customer that is not the case" It was only a normal human mistake.
