Requesting a refund of $150 for my child's Fall Registration
I submitted a termination letter requesting to terminate my child's enrollment effective June 11, 2020 and I have requested a refund of $150 for my child's Fall registration. Pineview Preschools of Parkland is refusing to issue the refund of $150, however I believe that my request is not unreasonable given the fact that my child will not be attending school in the fall and Pineview has more than enough time to replace my child's space in class. I do not feel that I should have to pay for a registration fee that I will no longer be using given the fact that I have provided them advance notification which will allow them time to replace my child's space in class.
I am seeking a refund of $150 to resolve this matter
When a parent enrolls their child at our school, they sign a financial agreement and a parent handbook acknowledgment that includes all of our school policies. One of the policies clearly states that there are no refunds for annual registration fees. Every parent has the right to enroll or not enroll if they are not in agreement with our school policies. (See attached policy from parent handbook & Parent's signed acknowledgement)
This particular parent chose to enroll her child in October 2019 and signed the agreement forms. She then re-enrolled her child again on January 21, 2020 and paid the fee hold her child's spot for the XXXX-XXXX school year.
When she asked for a refund 5 months later in May, because she wanted her daughter to go to a new school, we politely reminded her about the policy and agreement she had signed and wished her daughter well at her new school. (See attached contract)
In the emails that she shared with Revdex.com, we restated our policies and explained that we must be fair and consistent with other families that may have requested a refund in the past and therefore, could not issue a refund.
Note: The parent chose to share emails with names of employees despite that the emails have a confidentiality statement on the bottom but didn't share her signed financial agreement with the Revdex.com.
Our company has been established for over 18 years and we always act in good faith and are transparent with our families to avoid these types of situations.
Thank you for your consideration and we appreciate a thorough review of this matter.

I do not accept this reponse from Pineview because the XXXX-XXXX school year has not started. They are trying to pocket money for a school year that has not started and that is not fair. I am letting them well in advance so that they can find another child to fill my child's spot. Given the current pandemic, Pineview should have more compassion *** do the right thing by returning the $150 that I paid for a school year that has not yet started. Is Pineview that greedy and inconsiderate that they cannot return $150?
Unfortunately, the reason the parent indicated she needed a refund in her email was not because of the pandemic, she explained she had decided to send her child to another school. As previously stated, the refund policy applies to all families and it would not be proper to provide one family a refund and not to another. Our families understand the policy if they decide not to attend months after they have paid the fee.
Revdex.com, thank you for the opportunity to provide documentation regarding our policy and the parent's signed acknowledgements of our policy.

Again, I do not accept this reponse from Pineview because the XXXX-XXXX school year has not started. They are trying to pocket money for a school year that has not started. Pineview should have more compassion *** should care about the families they are affecting pocketing money that they know will not go to a student of their's. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will go to the media.
School reached out directly to client and complaint has been resolved.
