I paid $100 deposit on a date plate for a head stone. I cancelled the order and last year or so, Ms [redacted] , the office manager said she would have to reimburse me the 100$ since I cancelled the date plate. I go there today and she refuses to give me my reimbursement quote " I cant just reimburse you" I saw the financial report in the folder and it shows where I cancelled the order and they refuse to give me my money backDesired SettlementI would like my 100$ mailed to me at the address provided Business Response This person's mother entered into a contract with Pine Forest on 5/10/11. Her mother made a down payment of $110.11 with the balance of $100 due 6/30/11. The balance was never paid. The cemetery cancelled the contract for nonpayment 7/23/2012. This person came into Pine Forest yesterday, 4 years later, to demand her mother's money back. That is simply not possible: NC law states that when a preneed purchase is made 60% of that money must be placed in trust for that future purchase and may only be used for that purchase, and will not be released until that purchase is fulfilled. This is why I told her we would still allow her to use that money to fulfill the purchase. We will even waive the late charges.
