We obtained information from Phil Beaulieu and sons home improvements from the home show at the Better Living center. After some thought process and price quotes we decided to go with Phil Beaulieu & Sons. Al *** contacted us a month earlier and advised us he had an opening and could fit us in a little early, which was great fpr us. Everything Al explained in detail was precise and his guys Todd and Dan as well as Al's son were there explaining how the process was going to work.. With the exception of the weather these guys were her faithfuly every day tearing off the old siding and putting up the new. Even a couple Saturdays tossed in. As promised the job was done on time with the exception of a week or so attempting to work out a dye issue with the siding. The manufacturer was contacted by Al and was there immediately correcting the issue. A couple days later and a couple new siding attempts the issue was corrected at no cost to us. As the manufacturer's rep stated to us, this is a manufactuerer issue not and installation issue. I cant say enough about Todd and Dan, they were fantastic and every small issue or question they were there to answer or fix it.. Al was there almost every day making sure all was going well. Thanks Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvements for a job well done. Great work.
We had 5 great lakes window unit installed, seamless gutters and downspouts put up, and a
pressure treated pole installed, Jesse and his co worker were very nice pleasant and did a
great job. The gutters were put up by a contractor who is a very nice guy the gutters look great
makes to house look great.
I have been a customer with Phil Beaulieu & Sons for over 20 years.
They did siding, windows, roof and recently sealed my chimney.
I have never had any problems with them, when I have called they are quick in returning my call promptly.
Their workmanship excellent.
PBHI was on time and professional. They completed a new roof on my garage and stripped and replaced the roof one my house also they replaced gutters and downspouts, and flashing.
If I had a question or a problem it was taken care of immediately and professionally.
We had our roof replaced by Phil Beaulieu & Sons and we are very pleased with the results and the service. It took two days and they cleaned everything up after they were done the first night instead of leaving a mess for the next day.
I am very pleased with the siding of our home! The work was professionally done, quickly done and neatly done! I would highly recommend PBHI to anyone looking for quality work at an affordable price!
I called this business, Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement, Inc., in July 2015 and left a message. They did return my call right away and they made an appointment with me the next day. So far so good. But that didn't last.
(As you will read below... Apparently some contractors, like this business, chooses which customers they like to be "professional" and "courteous" to. It is not right that contractors like this are allowed to treat people like this whenever they feel like it - especially it seems to single females.)
They scheduled an appointment time at 1:30 to 2:30 in July 2015, which I confirmed with them. ISSUE: They arrived about an hour early announced and I wasn't home (my daughters were). So, they proceeded on their own (without me being at home) to go on my roof top to examine it - while my daughters were inside and not knowing what was going on with people on our roof. I really did not find that acceptable and I have not met them at all previously.
Also, they didn't even return for the actual appointment at the right time or call me. There was no follow up with me. I had to call them a few times at least and each time I got a message. Their office finally called me later and they were just "to the point" with no explanation saying a proposal will be sent to me. That's it; no consideration for the aggravation they caused and no apology for the missed appointment and going on my roof top without my permission while I was not home. AND the proposal never was sent to me.
So then I decided to complain to the Home Builders group because I really didn't find it acceptable that some contractors treat some customers differently than others and with no respect. Soon after I called with my complaint, I then got one call from Phil *** company saying they wanted to come back for the roof estimate. I never called them back because of how unprofessional they handled the initial appointment, followed with no apology or really caring at all that they took it upon themselves to go on my roof without my permission and while I was not home at all.
We recently had Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement install a Harvey bow window.
All the staff and workers were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The installers were very professional and cleaned up during and after the job.
We would not hesitate to contact them again or to refer them to others.
Having done much business (Siding, Windows, Doors, and other projects) with Mr. and Sons over many years I have been very pleased with their professionalism, knowledge, quality work, punctuality, courtesy and attention to customer expectations.

BEAULIEU AND SONS, CHICOPEE IS THE MOST UNTRUSTWORTHY, LYING CHEATING COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. AS WITH ANOTHER VIEWER, THEY PUT ON A ROOF IN 2012 WHICH IS STILL LEAKING FIVE YEARS LATER. THEY SAID IT WAS NEVER MY ROOF! THAT IT WAS THE INSULATION ISSUE IN MY ATTIC.
I HAVE THREE INCHES OF FILES ON BEAULIEU. I HAVE NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT A BUSINESS BEFORE, BUT THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
I WISH I COULD CONNECT WITH THE GENTLEMAN WHO WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS NOT BEAULIEU'S BECAUSE THE ROOF LEAKED ONLY WHEN IT SNOWS. I GOT THE SAME STORY.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM. THEY EVEN WROTE ON MY CONTRACT THAT MY HOME WOULD BE GUARANTEE ABOUT LEAKS FOR THE LIFE OF THE OWNER. ALONG THE LONG FIVE YEAR PATH, I ASKED THEM ABOUT THAT GUARANTEE (WHICH WAS WRITTEN IN PEN BY ***) AND HE SAID; "THAT IS NOT ON OUR OFFICE COPY.
WHAT DOES THAT, ALONE, TELL YOU ABOUT THIS COMPANY.
I AM 88 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE.
I WOULD GIVE IT MINUS 10 STARS IF I COULD.
We do still warranty Mrs. roof for the life that she owns the home against leaks made by rain as a deal I had with her now deceased husband. The problems they are experiencing are ice dams. Their attic is under insulated and very poorly ventilated. They had ice cables on their roof when we did the roof initially and we were asked to not reinstall them. This has been a long standing issue with this home. We offered several solutions to them to consider but this ice dam issue with this particular home is tough one. It is very difficult to ventilate this home because it has no over hangs to vent from. We feel very bad about the issue and have been willing to help in anyway we can, it is the owners that stopped responding to our advances. We have been in business for 50 years, we donate our time and efforts to many nonprofit organizations and hold our honor and trustworthiness at the highest standard. We have a commitment to quality and customer service like no other. We were hired to put a quality roof on this home and that is what we believe we did. When it rains this roof does not leak. Ice dams are a huge issue in New England and other parts of this country especially on older homes. We look forward to responses and try to rectify the ice dam issue....*** CoOwner of Phil Beaulieu and Sons Home Improvement Inc.
I would like to take this final opportunity to address a number of inconsistencies and untruths in this company's response. First, we never had any cables on our roof! Ad never asked that any be removed! We had a copper ice shield which we asked that they NOT remove. It was installed years ago by a reputable slate roofer. The workers removed it and did not replace it.
12-1-2011 - 24" snowstorm. For the first time in 50 years we had dripping from our kitchen addition which was put on 23 years earlier. The damage seemed minimal and I did not file a claim.
10-29-2011 - 12.3" snowstorm. Since we had more leaking from the same place in our kitchen, we contacted this contractor. He checked the attic and said it looked fine; he went outside and pointed to my roof and said "That is where your leak is coming from.
On September 13, 2012 he came with a contract. My husband asked him some questions before signing. He asked about the skylights and if they needed to be replaced. He was told that they were in good shape. He had questions about the warranty and after awhile, the co-owner took his pen and wrote: "Warrenty (sic) of roof for the life of owner against leaks." THERE WAS NO MENTION OF SNOW as this contractor claims. We signed the contract for a roof for $11,79500. The roof was installed on September 14. No person from this company was at my house during roofing job and the workers did not speak English.
12-29-2012 - 6.8" snowstorm. More dripping. Contractor looked at the roof and told me it was attic fan and it needed to be removed because of rust. ! I was given a bill for $1,750.00. Fan was removed 3/7/13.
2-5-2014 - 10.2" snowstorm. More leaks, from larger area of ceiling. I called and was told skylights needed to be replaced!
When I asked about the fan being removed and roof still leaking, I was told "Ok, so that was a mistake on our part".. He never came to my house to discuss skylights.
2-2-2015 - 10.8" snowstorm. Small amount of additional leaking. Co-owner came to my home with a contract for $5,450 to remove attic windows and install gable vents and 2 Sunrise Solar 1050 fans. I did not sign this contract after consulting with other roofing experts. At this point, he said the problem was the attic ventilation and circulation. He said the problem was never the roof!
2-9-17 = 15.5" snowstorm. Co-owner came with TWO options.
OPTION #1 - Remove attic windows and add 2 louvers - Cost to be $1.875.00
OPTION #2 - Remove attic windows and add 1 louver and a power-louvered vent. - Cost to be $3.200.,00 (one louver)
6/2017 - My skylight imploded. it is all cracked.
I contacted co-owner who came to my house and said I needed gable vents. I told him we had them and, in disbelief he went out to be sure. He saw that we have one on each end of the attic. At that point, he told me he would call one of the contractors who had helped me to get his opinion about which way to go. He never contacted that gentleman and he never contacted me again.
10/19/17 - This has been a very, very frustrating, stressful FIVE years. I have never been discourteous to these brothers. All we wanted was a roof that would not leak, but they did not (do not) know how to do this for me.
Please know that I have always been in touch with this company. Unfortunately, I needed to be. They were rude, discourteous and dishonest.
I have never asked for any compensation. I just want to let others know what my experience has been with them.
This is a very unfortunate issue. The fact is the roof is performing as it was designed to do, it sheds water when it rains. The lack of ventilation and insulation is the issue. Because there are no overhangs the attic doesn't ventilate properly and traps heat in the attic thus causing ice dams. The roof doesn't leak when it rains.
-We don't believe we were rude. We do understand that we may have been frustrated as the owners were as well in trying to help them solve this issue and understand the cause.
-I also noticed an attic trap door at the top of the stairs that was not insulated. This is a very vulnerable location in the home as the heat rises up the stairwell and straight into the attic. Because of the lack of proper ventilation in the attic and large amounts of heat loss has create a recipe for ice dams
-The engineering dynamics of the home have changed over the years as well. Thermo-pane windows were added, new doors, addition to the rear and I believe wall insulation had been added, all of this will result in less energy being lost through the windows and walls thus creating more heat loss in the attic because heat rises.
-In closing.... we feel terrible about this situation and knowing we have a dis-satisfied customer is very painful to us. We are willing to help remedy the issue. The facts are this is an ice dam issue. Ventilation and or insulation is the only remedy.
-Suggestions; Spray foam the entire attic thus creating a "hot roof" you can *** or *** "hot roof" or add the proper ventilation and analyze the points of heat loss and correct those issues.

We hired Phil Beaulieu & Sons to install new siding on our two story home and garage. The quote was lower than another we had received a few years ago from another company and the quote was accurate. The three-person team worked quickly. They were polite and they kept the area clean. The young man who handled the aluminum around the windows was highly skilled. There were no issues. Al *** went out of his way to accommodate us - when we hung an exterior FM antenna on the siding and it turned out to be in the wrong place, he twice replaced the siding into which it had been screwed without complaint or extra charge even though we live in a town far from their home base. The house looks great - the neighborhood is pleased! We would have benefitted from having him come to review our questions before getting started, but it all worked out well. We highly recommend this company.
