Review: I am currently in a contract for oil delivery. I placed a call to [redacted] in th beginning of January 2016. I spoke with a representative at length about my delivery services. I explained that I am moving before the end of my contract, can I cancel without penalty and if and how can I avoid having another delivery as I don't want to be charged to fill a tank two weeks before I move (as I am a renter). The rep specifically discussed the cancellation policy and my options. It was made very clear that I was not to receive a delivery unless I contacted them with a request for one, and even with that I could ask for a min of 150 gallons and not have to fill the tank. On Feb [redacted] I arrived home to a ticket in my door for a oil delivery - they filled the tank- I never requested it nor did I get a call ahead. I called the company that day, and explained the situation. They forwarded it to my local office- I was contacted by Patricia (feb *) who was extremely rude. I then spoke with another sup. April. She told me the phone call conversations that I am claiming this situation was discussed would be pulled and they would get back to me in a "few days", Its been almost two weeks. I placed a call Feb [redacted]- and asked to speak to april- she "was in a meeting". I have yet to get a follow up phone call or response to this issue of being stuck with a bill. The follow up and attitudes of this company is nothing but horrible, as I have had issues in the past (not as major) and never receive follow up/ follow through from the supervisors.Desired Settlement: I don't want to be held responsible for the recent oil delivery charge as I never requested it and made it very clear and was assured of my phone call with the rep prior to this issue that I would not get a delivery.

Review: My current contract with Petro expires 1/*/15...on 10/**/14 I called Petro for oil pricing for my renewal on 1/*/15 and was quoted $3.199 with $99.00 for the service contract which I accepted....upon discussing this with my spouse, we decided it was still early and I called back Petro on 10/**/14 to terminate the cancellation...I spoke to [redacted] @Petro who advised I am locked in and cannot cancel my contract since it was for a "renewal" and I was not a new customer. On 11/*/14, I needed a service for my boiler, they informed me my contract was terminated and I advised them that it was for the renewal term of 1/*/15. They came and serviced my boiler...a couple of days later, I received my bill and noticed that they had charged me a termination fee dated 10/**/14 and it was voided 11/*/14 (the day after my service)...I called Petro back and they advised me the contract for the 1/*/15 is not cancelled. If I want to cancel I would have to pay the termination fee of $599.00, please help... I want to cancel my contract for 1/*/15 with Petro...Thank you for your assistance. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I wish for my contract to be cancelled 1/*/15 and since I gave ample time for the cancellation notice, I do not feel I have to charged a $599 termination fee.

Review: My contract was up for renewal. I renegotiated for new year for maximum oil delivery at the rate of 3.99 per gallon. When oil was delivered price per gallon on bill was 4.059 per gallon. I called immediately and customer service had to transfer me to sales. They claim I had to be transferred. The sales rep advised I did agree to the higher rate and he could "pull the recorded call " to prove it. I asked for the call details once they found the call with the findings. That was two weeks ago! I called again today, had to be transferred again. Nothing was researched. This time I was advised a supervisor had to "pull the call" and I would get a call back. Mi asked would it be today the response was I don't know!!! This is NOT quality customer service by any means. I have referred my family to this company.Desired Settlement: Want my delivery rate to be 3.99 as agreed or I will cancel this bogus contract and move on to a reputable company!

Sincerely,

Review: Please see previous complaint file under ID [redacted]. I made an error. I am revising complaint.

I called Petro to renew a service contact with fixed rate oil delivery plan on 04/**/14. I didn't like the price or rate they offered for a fixed price plan so they offered a reduced priced service contract with a ceiling plan. They advised that the price of oil would be wholesale plus. The SPECIFIC example she gave me was when oil is 3.00 per gallon then I would pay 3.15 per gallon. This is either a 5% or .15 per gallon markup which I am fine with. I received a delivery yesterday, the wholesale cost of home heating oil #2 according to [redacted]) on 11/**/14 was 2.58 per gallon. Petro charged me 3.719 per gallon, a 44% markup. I have made several calls to negotiate a reasonable price per gallon without any success. The reps give up very quickly and advise a supervisor is going to call back which never happens.Desired Settlement: I would like to be rebilled at an appropriate rate ($2.709 per gallon, 5% markup over cost) for this oil delivery and cancel the remaining contract without penalty.

November[redacted], 2014 [redacted]The Revdex.com[redacted] Re: Case ID# [redacted] – [redacted] Dear [redacted], Please accept this reply in response to complaint #[redacted] by the above referenced consumer. Upon receiving the complaint, we immediately reached out to [redacted] to address his concerns regarding the price per gallon for his most recent oil delivery. Both Petro and [redacted] have come to a satisfactory resolution for the price per gallon and we have adjusted his last delivery to his satisfaction. Very truly yours, [redacted]

Review: On April 2013, we purchased a Service Agreement with Petro for the amount of $412.56. According to the statement, this service agreement was to include Premier Plan, Additional Zones and 1 HWH, 24/365 Coverage, for a Single Unit. It states in the "certificate" given to us, that the "Premier Plan" would be good for: On-Call Service; if requested for arrival prior to 8 am or after 5pm, or on federal holidays, or weekends, there would be a diagnostic fee, UNLESS we had purchased the 24-365 option, which we did, because it is CLEARLY written in the statement from April **, 2013. Along with this, there were to be free service visits, efficiency tune-ups at now cost if schedule between March [redacted] and September [redacted], and a 15% discount on their regular rates for any repair not covered by this Plan. There were also selected components and oil distribution pieces the were to be covered, including but not limited to : Extrol Expansion Tank, and Nozzle/ Filter/ Strainer Replacement.

We placed a phone call on Saturday January *, 2014, at around 8am because the heater was not working. Granted, we understand this may have been an entirely busy day due to the snowstorm the day before. The [redacted], did not arrive until later in the evening around 8/9 pm. He did in all honesty provide good service. However, we have two young children at home, and we would have appreciated if Petro had informed us about the extended wait periods, so we would have take more appropriate measures to ensure the children didn't have to stay in the house all day, waiting around in the cold.

[redacted] filled up the tank with 449.00 worth of oil.

Then he states that there is a broken tube that must be fixed, so we obviously have to get it repaired.

At this point, they state that we have no contract, and it was TERMINATED because we did not answer their phone calls. The "certificate" handed to us states the term of this Agreement is 12 months. We are now being charged:

Diagnostic Fee: 98.00

Nozzle/FIlter/Strainer Replacement: 205.00

Air Eliminator Auto, 1/8 MPT: 71.00

Extrol Expansion Tank : 299.00

plus taxes, with a total : 731.05

This amount is yet to be paid at this point.

According to the "Premier Plan" purchased in April, there should be NO diagnostics fee, there should be no charge for the Nozzle, and Filter Replace, and there should be no charge for the Extrol Expansion Tank, and IF the Air Elimination was by any change NOT covered by this plan, there should have been a 15% discount on this.Desired Settlement: We respectfully ask that Petro honor the Service Agreement made with them in April, and reconsider the amounts being charged, as its over 90% of what we would be paying if they honored the contract in the first place.

We would like to get everything in writing as we do not understand the reasoning behind WHY they deemed contract null and void. There was a total lack of communication from Petro, as there has been no letter or phone call placed to state the contract being cancelled. There was also no communication, letting us know what time their technician would arrive.

Review: I had called petro back in november of 2013 to request price quotes for an oil contract. I told the salesman I would talk to my wife. later that day I called the salesman back and told him I would not be using them and thanked him. Two months later on 1-**-14 petro delivered heating oil to my house and said I had a contract with them. I told them I didnt and asked them to pump out the oil that they put in my tank. No one from the company ever got back to me on this matter. three weeks later I get a bill from petro for $1142 for this delivery. $406 for the oil, $599 for early contract termination $108 for a service agreement. I called up and told them I dont have a contract and they told me I did I asked them to show me my signature and they cant because I never signed one. then they hung up on me. I will not be paying for this oil. I have requested several diffrent times to have it pumped out. They ignore me. I ont want this bill going to the credit agency. Review: I have a contract with Petro to deliver oil. They missed two deliveries. Last night we ran out of oil and my children were freezing. They sent a technician out hours later, he confirmed they I had no oil, he added a little and said I would get a delivery the next day. NEver got the delivery and again ran ut of oil and freezing. When I call Petro, I am told they have no managers to help me.Desired Settlement: I expect to get oil first thing in the morning and I expect enough credits to make me forget how much my kids are hurting and crying and freezing. I will take this to the news as well.

We discussed his account and addressed all of his concerns. We have come to a satisfactory resolution with [redacted]. Sincerely, [redacted] ?

Review: I had purchased a 1 year contract with Petro Oil for service on my boiler and automatic oil deliveries at my home beginning March 2012. At the end of this 1 year time period in March 2013, I did not renew the contract for neither service nor automated deliveries. The next heating season, I began receiving automatic oil deliveries which I never requested. I received one delivery on October *, 2014 which I paid since I was going to use the oil. Then I received another delivery on December **, which I also paid since I was going to be consuming the oil. I tried to reach out to them at that time to ask why I was being given these automatic deliveries. At no point in time was it clear to me what had happened. As per my knowledge, my contract was for 1 year which was service and automatic deliveries. Not renewing that contract, to me, meant that deliveries would be done as requested by me. I emailed them, from their company website demanding an explanation. The reason this has become an issue is because I have scheduled for a change to a gas boiler. My oil tank is now completely full and I cannot have the tank removed from my home until its empty. I spoke to 4 different people and the last person I spoke to was, [redacted], who told me that they are an automatic delivery company only. This information was never made clear to me at any point in time before the phone calls. They are now threatening to send me to collections for a product that I did not explicitly request. I will be more than fair and pay half of the remaining balance which includes the last 2 deliveries. One of those deliveries I did use the first entirely and will pay for it. However, the last delivery from April in the amount of approximately $954 I will not be willing to pay for. This oil will not be used and I will have to pay to have it disposed so that I can get rid of the tank. They are also more than welcome to take the oil back if they choose, but they said they do not do that.Desired Settlement: I should not be held responsible for the last oil delivery in the amount of $954 made on 4/**/14

Business

Response:

[redacted] was aware that her account continued to be on automatic delivery. Her claim is that her "contract" ended 3/**/13, however, heating oil deliveries were made 10/**/13, 12/**/13, 02/**/14 with no comments or complaints. We were NEVER informed of her intent to faciliate a fuel conversion and made a delivery on 04/**/14 based on k-factor and degree days.

Currently there is a balance due Petro of $2013.72. In an effort to resolve this complaint we will agree to the following:

upon receipt of payment in the amount of $1714.14

we will discount the delivery of April **, 2014 by $250.00 and

remove late fees of $49.58

Review: On August **, 2013 Petro came to my condominium and charged me $89.95 for an A/C diagnostic fee. In addition the service person replaced compressor terminal leads for $309. He said at the time that if this repair did not work I would likely need a new compressor. Today, August **, less than 10 days later, my A/C is no longer working. It is Saturday and my call to Petro was met with the following: (1) I was going to be required to pay a A/C diagnostic fee of $149 because it was a weekend when they would have to come and service my A/C unit. This implies to me that Petro does not guarantee their work for even 10 days. Further, the service man suspected that the replacement of the terminal leads might be insufficient and told us that a future repair would be credited for the work already completed. I was OK with that, but I will not pay an additional $149 for someone to come and tell me I need a new compressor.Desired Settlement: Either refund me my money or get out to my house ASAP and tell if I need a new A/C. However, since it is Saturday, I doubt anyone is who can make a decision is available.

Sincerely,

Review: My wife and I have been customers of Petro since '06. It canceled only when we planned to remove our names from the policy and allow our tenants to start their own w petro. When the tenants did not, I was forced to re-up the contract in February due to a need to have a tech out and for the eventual replacement of a circ pump. I called up around Wednesday of last week looking to set up a service on my boiler as is part of the premier plan I have on the unit. I was passed around by several departments before being assigned to [redacted] at my local office. In February I purchased the service policy and specifically stated that I did not want delivery of the oil. I only recently found out that my policy canceled after our services were taken care of. No delivers of oil ever were made. I feel as though a game of semantics are being played by the company and me. Recently, I returned a call from [redacted] in regards to the call I made in few when I purchased the contract. [redacted] was more than willing to play me back a portion of the call that would satisfy what she was trying to prove....something to the effect that I was not direct in that conversation that my tenant would be paying COD for oil and I wanted the service plan. I then asked [redacted] if she heard the part when I spoke to the customer serv rep on how I did not want delivery and she stated that she did not hear to that part in the conversation and that she would need to look into it again.....for the 3rd time I would need a call back.Petro took my $ for the service plan and then canceled the policy leaving me without a service I paid for. Their agent apparently mis sold a service they didn't offer. That's not my fault. Thats not my problem. I paid for a years service and at the very least I expect to get it.I cannot believe this is how a loyal customer who not only has had service and delivery but also bought a new boiler and had Petro install it.Desired Settlement: Either a prorated refund of when petro decided to cancel my policy or petro is to continue the year service and after it's completion, they can non renew my contract unless I decide to purchase fuel delivery as well as a service contract. I think this at the very least is a fair settlement

Sincerely,

Review: I have used Petro for many years with no complaint. Several months ago, Petro contacted me to say that my fuel oil TANK was not situated properly, and was in danger of tipping over. Petro said they would come put the tank on cement blocks and stabilize it, so I would not be in danger of an OIL SPILL... They came and put one leg on a piece of flint, and billed me $100 for "putting the tank on cement blocks to stabilize it". I spoke to [redacted], who said I was "mistakenly charged for work that wasnt done". My boyfriend, [redacted], is a witness, he heard [redacted] make this statement.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY TANK TO BE PUT UP SAFELY ON CEMENT BLOCKS AS PAID FOR AND PROMISED. MY TANK COULD TIP OVER CAUSING ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS! I WANT PETRO TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR UNSAFE, LYING ACTIONS.

I am sorry, I was away and could not respond sooner.

1. Petro WAS my oil company. They were making a delivery, and noticed that my oil tank was" in danger of tipping."

2. Petro came and "FIXED" my problem.

3.Petro mails me a new contract for $350. I call Petro and tell them DO NOT RENEW MY CONTRACT..I CANNOT AFFORD $350

4. A different oil company comes to look at my tank and tells me it is DANGEROUS and IN DANGER OF TIPPING OVER

5. I calll Petro...they send a guy out. They inspect the tank and tell me YOU WERE CHARGED FOR A JOB WE DID NOT DO" . THEY BILL ME $50!!!!!!!!

6 I DO NOT WANT MY ACCOUNT TO BE CREDITED...I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT

7. Petro owes me $200. I want a CHECK...I do not want my account credited as I do NOT have an account..

Response:

Dear [redacted]:

Thank you for allowing me to respond to [redacted]'s concerns.

In regards to the first two concerns, [redacted] stated we charged her $100 for a tank repair. Although we did charge $108.63 on March *, 2013, we acknowledged the error made and processed a credit of $108.63 on September **, 2013.. [redacted] was made aware of this when she closed her account with us.

In regards to the third concern, Petro did bill the Service Agreement for $336.57 on June **, 2013 and credited it in full on October *, 2013.

When [redacted] removed the Service Agreement we billed out the last service call which was an inspection for $53.23. This was credited in full on December **, 2013.

I spoke with the customer on January **, 2014 and clarified that we sent her two refund checks totalling $108.63. The first check was $55.40 and mailed on October *, 2013 and the second check for $53.23 was mailed on December **, 2013. [redacted] understands that she is not due $200.

[redacted] stated she didn't remember anything regarding these checks. We traced the checks and found that she cashed the $55.40 check which cleared on October **, 2013.

On January **, 2014, I left her a message to confirm she received the second check since it wasn't cashed yet and we are awaiting a response from her.

Petro's process for refunds is to credit the account first and after the credit posts, we request a refund check be issued.

I hope I have responded to all your concerns. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.

Thank you

I starting doing Business with Petro for home heating oil in October of 2014, initially everything seemed fine until I received a delivery of Oil. The price the Oil came in at about 60 cents per gallon more than normal prices. I immediately called and complained and was told the meter on the truck was wrong and I was credited 30 cents per gallon. In September of 2015 about two weeks before my contract was up for renewal I reached out to Petro inquiring about there contract price for oil in 2015, I advised them that I was inquiring as to price to decide on the next year. I was quoted 3.60 per gallon, this was 1.60 per gallon above the current market rate of 1.99 per gallon. I advised Petro to not deliver until I determined what I was going to do, they advised me that they were not going to deliver as I had missed a payment and was on credit hold. To my astonishment I found out after returning from work that Petro had come and filled my 550 gallon tank with 400 gallons of oil the following day, this was against my instructions. The price I was charged was 3.60 per gallon 1.60 dollars per gallon above what I could get from Slomins at 1.99 per gallon. I called complained and was given the runaround by Petro taking to about a half dozen different reps, I was told that they filled my tank because I was do for a delivery. I would have had no problem with Petro if I did not tell them to not deliver and if they would have delivered at a fair market price. Remember supposedly I was on credit hold and there insisted they would not deliver until I paid the late payment. I am willing to pay .30 cents per gallon above going rate but not 1.60 per gallon above the going rate. My issue still remains unresolved and I am now a client of Slomins at 1.99 per Gallon.

Review: I canceled my account# [redacted] with Petro Oil on 10/**/13. I am due a refund from Petro of $ 954.00. I called back the next day 10/** and spoke to [redacted] and he told me it would take 10 business days for me to receive my refund check. On 11/**/13 I called again asking the status of my check. [redacted] told me the account was never properly closed. No fault of mine. I requested my check be overnight mailed to me. [redacted] assured me that the accounting department would call in the morning. At 1:00 PM ON 11/**/13 I recalled customer service asking when I would be called by accounting, within the hour I was assured. I got busy at work and recalled when I got home. I spoke with [redacted] who told accounting was closed but he emailed them personally and I would defiantly hear from tomorrow. Here we are on Friday 11/** no call no check.Desired Settlement: Refund next day mailed plus interest!

Review: I have PETRO as my oil Company, I also have a service contract. On Thursady 2/**/2015 at 5:29 pm I

called Petro and explained that I have a water leak from a Pipe coming out of my oil Burner that was leaking on the Burner and also the Electric wires/boxes on the Burner! She said are you sure the pipe is coming out of the Burner cause if its not we don't cover that. I clearly said it was, she said she will have a tech out between 9:00 -12:00.(she never said it wasn't covered! I also said should I turn off the Burner because of the WATER leaking on the Electric she said No! leave it on!{when the service tech finally arrived at 2:04 am he said yes it is coming from the burner but no plumbing is covered!}I made several call to Petro all stating my concerns with the water/electric, turning off Burner, water .also when are they coming. called 8:42,10:44,12:28,1:44am,2:50 am. They never came between (9-12) like they promised, it went into the next service mans shift. When I called at 1:44 am I told the Dispatch person the Burner started to make an Electrical buzzing sound So I Turned it Off! It was the result of water leaking onto the Honeywell Aquastat Oil Electronic Devise. That the service man Replaced but said its not covered !No plumbing is covered its my fault! Charge to me is $590.92! It gets better he says he cant fix the pipe he closes a valve which turns it to a slow drip. Tells me to call schedule for a plumber. I did at 2:50am 2/**/2015 I was told it will be done first thing in morning. I called them at 9:00am they told me no plumber available till Tuesday!!! This was Friday. no good! So I called [redacted] the Plumber who came within 2 hours fixed leak at a cost of $325! Well Petro said that all of these calls are Recorded so I want this looked into I was treated unfairly and mislead. All a dispatcher had to say was we don't cover this you need to call a plumber! Also turn it off!! They never came within the time frame they promised also. if they did the Honeywell box would not have burned out! Please look into this I called today explaining this to a Petro dispatcher she said no [redacted] available now, I told her that I want something done with this charge! To{ look into all of the Recorded calls I made!} She said she would forward it to a [redacted] who will call tomorrow. I explained that I know this is being recorded she took it as I was recording her and she said she didn't authorize me recording her and hurried off the phone, I again said I'm not recording that she is recording this I clarified , she still ran off phone! This is a terrible way to treat a customer! Now I need some help! Please look into this Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: I really think they should cover this whole Bill ! they totally mislead me ! Its there fault I did as they said, They never said that No Plumbing is Covered!(That's all they had to say) Also they told me to keep it running, and they didn't arrive when they said they would!
