Review: I have all the emails between myself and Jason K[redacted] (owner of PestRx) and also copies of my cell phone call log, I will gladly email or fax them over, there was no way to attach them here.
On Aug 26th a bald-faced hornet stung my husband, sending him to the hospital. I sprayed the nest, removed the nest and cut the tree limb down (the nest was in my front yard, in an area that is mowed weekly).
On Sept 4th we were still seeing bald-faced hornets over by my barn, so I looked online and found PestRx. I called Sept 4th at 11am and explained about the events that took place on Aug 26th, the lady on the phone said she there was a tech in the area and she would call me back. When she called back on the 4th at 11:31am, she said he would be able to come out that day. She said I could choose to pay for a month’s service or till Dec 31st 2015, I picked till the end of the year as it was only around $50 more. So I paid $292.46.
The service tech Dan arrived, he asked where the nest was and I explained again that the nest had been sprayed and removed by me on Aug 26th but I was still seeing bald-faced hornets. He said that I confused them but removing the whole nest and that the returning hornets thought my barn was there nest. He said he would spray the yard and that any of them that landed in the spray would die, the rest would die off with-in 10 days as there was no queen to tell them what to do.
On Sept 11th there was still bald-faced hornet activity so I called PestRx she asked to call me back and said it was 10 days after they sprayed and if I was still seeing them on the 14th to call again. I gave it an extra day and called on the 15th, they said they would put it on the schedule. On Sept 16th I received an email from Jason, one of the owners. Jason said he would be the one coming to my property on Sept 17th. I was home when Jason arrived and he said I was given incorrect info and that if I had sprayed and removed the nest that any remaining hornets would die within days. He said there was nothing that could be done, he was going to be talking with his tech about giving out false information and the spray would have done nothing to help. At that time I asked then why was that not said “before” I paid $292??
On Sept 22nd I called because on an underground wasp’s nest in my front yard and got an answering machine, I left a brief message with just my name and number. I hadn’t heard from them so when I found Jason’s business card I called and left him a message on Sept 28th. Jason emailed me on Oct 1st and said he would be out on Oct 5th. On the morning of Oct 5th I received a phone call from PestRx asking if I still needed service, I said yes I had already killed the underground wasp nest, but I had found a bald-faced hornet’s nest up in one of the trees in the front yard. She said no problem and that Jason would be out at some point that day. I said its pretty high up in the tree! She said no problem he can reach 50ft with the equipment we use, I said I have a ladder too so he can reach another 40ft. Jason arrived and said there was no way he could reach the nest, it was 70ft in the tree and since it was getting colder they would all be dying off soon. I was very upset since I paid $292 and they had done nothing! And again asked why would they take money knowing there was nothing for them to do? He said he was going to look into things and get back to me. I hadn’t heard from him so on Oct 8th I emailed him. He replied and I messaged him back. He has not messaged or called me since the 8th.Desired Settlement: Refund the money that was paid since no service was given.

Review: on march 8, 2015, my family was in a terrible car accident. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. when I was released I got a phone call from pestrx asking if I wanted to pre-pay my service but I had to sent the money to them right away.
I asked them for a week extention and they said no. so I told them to cancel my service. a month later they came to
my house to spray and I told him that I didn't want the service again. a week later I got a bill for service that I never received. to find out that I had to cancel my service in a letter. they never told me that when I was on the phone with them. now they want $115.00. they are crooks and don't know how to treat their customers. shame on them. they should not be in business.

Response:
We are sorry for the tragedy that has
befallen this customer. Our phone call on March 19th was a follow-up
to the previous mailing, emails and calls made in February and March. They
outlined the payment that was due by March 31st for discounting on
the current contract if paid in full. Here are our notes from this call:
Spoke w/customer. She stated that she was in a really bad accident
and was unable to commit to me that we would get the payment by March 31st. She
stated that if we can not extend the offer for her then she did not want to
have the service. I tried to explain to her the cancellation process,
specifically that if she wanted to cancel the agreement we needed to have it in
writing. She said "I am not putting it in writing" and hung up the
phone.
We then reached out to the customer on April
7th after we had also sent an email on April 2nd about
extending the offer. Here are our noes from the call:
Spoke w/customer as we were now a week past the deadline and she
stated that she will call me back and let me know.
As per the contract we came out to perform
service on May 11th and the customer refused to allow service to be
performed. The technician explained that if she wanted to cancel she needed to
follow the cancellation process in her agreement and that she would be
responsible for May payment.
On May 12th we received this
email:
“I do not want your service anymore! and nobody sprayed my yard! I
do not owe you any money, and don't bother me anymore!”
On May 13th we began the 30day
cancellation process per the customer’s request and reached out via email.
Those emails with the response are below:
5/13/15 – Sent email – “I am sorry that you want to cancel your
service with PestRx. I am going to start the 30 day cancellation process. We
did have you scheduled for a Vector Service (mosquito/tick/flea) this month
which you would be responsible for under the terms of your agreement. I
understand our technician was not allowed to spray when you were scheduled. We
can schedule another date to come out and spray at no charge. The total due on
your account is currently $64.08. If you have any questions please do not
hesitate to contact us.”
5/13/15 – Sent email – “I wanted to let you know that [redacted] has
forwarded me the email. We have spoken on Thursday March 19th 2015 about the
Vector prepay option. At that time you had stated that you were unable to
comment to me that you were able to make the payment by March 31st. You asked
me to extend the date for you, when I asked you when you were able to make the
payment you stated that you were unable to give me a date. You stated at that
time that you did not want the service if I was not able to extend the offer. I
tried to explain to you on that date that we need to have it in writing in
order to cancel the agreement and you said I am not putting it in writing and
hung up the phone,. I called you again on April 7th after I extended your date.
When I called you stated that you will call me back to discuss the options and
you never called me back. We since have received the notice of cancellation for
the account on May 12th which starts the 30 days notice of cancellation. The
service that was scheduled in the month of May is still due in the amount of
$64.08 but you will no longer have service with PestRx. Thank You”
5/13/15 – Received email from customer – “You did not tell me that
you extended my date after March 31 because I wouldn't leave. Furthermore I
explained to you that we were in a head on collision and I was in the hospital
for two weeks and you didn't care. That's when I had enough of your company. I
would never recommend your company to anyone. I will not pay that bill.”
On June 11th we mailed the final
cancel letter
I have attached a signed copy of the contract
and can provide additional details that are needed.
On August 11th we received word
from our attorney that payment had been made in full.
