I have responded on the website.Mr *** was given more than two weeks to get the problem fixed, while our caregivers had to take special caution while they also take care of 2-other veterans in their homes each day. The four caregivers assigned to him (he had morning and evening care
seven days a week), stated that he did not act in any forward manner to help resolve the matter, such as going to stay in a hotel or stay at a VA Respite Center so that his place could be completely fumigated and he could return in a couple of days. We would have provided care for him at the hotel.Mr *** said he was going to move or go stay in a hotel until resolved, but he did not, which is typical of him to say he will do something and will notHe has a documented history with us for being belligerent, and also a long documented history of being cruel to his former private live in caregiver--and it is the reason he lives alone.My caregivers are required to write reports for incidents, and they did about this situation, which then I must respond. I contacted the VA Social Worker assigned to him and she told me that they were dropping authorization for services until it was certified that his place fumigated at a professional level. Bedbugs travel in many ways to other peoples homes, including our caregivers and other veterans; it is a safety/health risk to others.Mr *** is a veteran who was injured recently in a motorcycle accident and received an ample settlement; he has the means to go to a hotel or go the VA centers for care, yet he would not follow through. He is angry because I reported him to the VA and the VA made the decision to suspend services as well.The caregivers returned the keys he issued to him within hours. Mr *** still has other options for care, but he has to abide by the rules the VA sets for authorizing home care services

Personal Best Services did not have a problem with bedbugs in the building until her billing practices were called into question.  Jan Islander continues to slander a U.S. Veteran. Completely unprofessional.
