My bike is not yet repaired.
The damage is more extensive than initially thought. The entire front hub needs to be replaced and the wheel rebuilt. There will be additional costs, beyond the $181 already paid, to be covered by Performance. The bike, which is my primary transportation, has been out of service for nearly a month at this time (July 8, 2015) ,causing me significant hardship. However, I am thankful that this catastrophic failure did not result in any injury to myself or others, as it easily could have.
While Performance has been cooperative up to this point, I cannot consider the matter closed until the bike is returned to service.
