Review: 50% asked for deposit/downpayment ($2,650) on 7/30/13, check cashed 8/13/13. They haven't scheduled work yet despite many calls from me.

I keep getting told that they don't have an opening to do the work yet--when I call to get a start date (the bid was first given, and check written 7/30/13. They have cashed my check for 50% of the job--on 8/13/13, 6 weeks ago--they have not started or scheduled the work (replacement of kitchen cabinets).

This company lacks respect for their client--to cash a check for work not even scheduled when they are the bottleneck (no time to do the work). I question their honesty, and integrity as well--I am very distaught, needlessly. This company SHOULD NOT ask for so large a deposit to begin with, especially when they don't have the time to do or schedule the job. I WILL be filing suit in small claims court to get a full refund (as they cashed my check six weeks ago)--and I no longer feel they can be trusted. Desired Settlement: Full "deposit", which is 50% of work cost quoted ($2,650).

Wanted to update you. My cabinets were finished on Saturday 11/2/13 (finally!!!, almost four weeks after the tear out)--and after numerous delays. The workmanship was okay, but they charged me $200 more than they quoted me (800 for staining instead of 600).

I just paid it cause I did not want to argue and just wanted the whole thing over with. They were very expensive $6,000 for small kitchen is too much really (especially with delays and not reconnecting dish washer, sink, or stove).

I will know to get more than one estimate next time. Thank you for your assistance, because I don't think they would be done yet if I had not filed a complaint.
