I encountered Peretti Hill at a Bridal Bazaar in Del Mar, CA in March 2019.
We contracted with them to do the make-up and hair at my Daughter's wedding in May 2020. I was told if we wanted to do a trial, we needed to lock in the rates and pay now because the rates were going up after the show. I paid for a trial for my Daughter and I also paid for the cost of them doing her hair and makeup for the wedding day. At no time was I told it was a deposit of any kind. Just a fee. I was also not told that I owed anything more. Only that I was now locked into that rate and anyone that wanted a trial and day-of made-up & hair was locked into the $70 trial fee and $120 day-of fee.
My daughter scheduled and received the trial made-up & hair appt. with no issues.
It was when we contacted them to get a contract to give to the wedding coordinators so everything could be arranged through them for the wedding day schedule that we started having problems.
First of all, they said there is no contract....meaning they don't issue contracts. Which is weird..I'm on your schedule to do business with for my daughter's wedding, of course that's a contract.
Then, my Daughter was told that she owed $40 still for the "day of" because they were now calling the fee I prepaid - a deposit.
I then got involved and e-mailed the company to let them know exactly what happened the day we saw them at the show.
I didn't receive an e-mail back for 2 weeks. When she(Sondra-Owner) replied, she told me I was mistaken, and that the $40 was still due - plus the fees for everyone else for trial and day of was now much more. She said that I was told this at the show. I was not.
I read their refund policy on line and followed the instructions to receive my "refund" back. I read CA retailer law that they have 7 days to refund.
2 weeks later, no refund, I e-mailed them again and told them if I didn't see it in the next couple days, I would file a complaint with Revdex.com and post negative reviews on Yelp. Still nothing, so here I am.
Thanks,
Andi
To whom it may concern:
The customer did not request a refund until recently. The previous emails she sent were weeks apart simply discussing the matter. This was explained to her. Once she officially requested a refund, we requested the necessary information from her to process that refund and have a check mailed to her immediately. We are still currently waiting for that response.
Hello,
I am sending a rebuttal statement to follow-up on complaint ID # ***
About a month ago, I received word from both Revdex.com and Peretti Hill (the company my complaint is with) that Peretti Hill FINALLY received my request for refund. (coincidentally, it was after they were contacted by Revdex.com that they magically received my e-mails)
They (Peretti Hill) asked for my contact info & mailing address so they could send a check to me.
I responded to them within I believe 30 minutes giving them that info and asking when I might expect to receive the check.
They responded back to me and said they would mail it out Monday (President’s Day Feb. 17th). (see 1st attachment that contains original e-mails up to this response on 2/13/20)
Shortly thereafter, as I’m waiting for the check, I received an e-mail from Revdex.com stating they had heard from Peretti Hill that Peretti Hill was claiming that they responded to me and were waiting for my response – which was not entirely true.
I had responded to them right away back on 2/13 and gave them my contact info and address and they said they would mail the check on 2/17.
What they reported to Revdex.com on 2/18 was not true. They HAD heard from me and should have already mailed the check at that point like they told me they would. (see 2nd attachment – E-mails regarding Peretti Hill (through Revdex.com))
I responded to the e-mail from Revdex.com in what I could see – the only way to respond.
If you read my response to Revdex.com regarding Peretti Hill’s comments, (in 2nd attachment) I had said that I did not consider this complaint resolved until I received the check from them.
Unfortunately, Revdex.com considered this resolved and closed the complaint.
I couldn’t respond again to Revdex.com and make sure my complaint wasn’t closed, but I could find no way back in the previous conversations on how to do that.
I waited a couple weeks and sent another e-mail to Revdex.com with my complaint # included to let them know that I still had not received the check from Peretti Hill and needed to continue my complaint.
I was contacted and told that my e-mail was forwarded to a conciliation specialist Michelle *** if I needed further assistance, she would be the one to contact.
I wasn’t sure if Michelle was going to automatically contact me or not, so I waited a week or so. Then I e-mailed her 3/9 asking if she could help me with my complaint that got closed when I didn’t intend for it to.
She responded to me and let me know the steps to take to send in a rebuttal statement. And here we are……
So I am hoping to finally get my $120 (yes, this is all over $120!) from Peretti Hill (hopefully in a money order or cashier’s check because at this point, I don’t trust a check).
Once I receive that $$, I will consider this resolved.
If you need anything further from me, please let me know.
Thank you.
