On the date of [redacted] X XXXX , [redacted] insurance company had attempted to take out money out of my checking account with people's bank . The account had insufficient funds and was at a zero dollar balance . People's bank declined the transaction and then on the same day accepted the transaction although my account is set up to decline any transaction when there aren't sufficient funds . There have been a few times that my account did not have the correct amount of funds to pay certain bills and the bank denied each transaction . I soon received letters from a collection agency stating that the bank wanted their money and after two months I had not received anymore letters from the agency . I had called [redacted] when I had knowledge of the agency's letters and asked them to return the money into the account . Unfortunately people's bank closed my account so [redacted] who was given accessibility to my account although , were unable to return the funds . Today I attempted to speak with the bank who told me they closed my account and never received the payment from [redacted] the representative I spoke to then told me the reason the bank allowed [redacted] to remove money out from my account was because I had automatic payments set up with [redacted]. on top of this they then allowed another company to remove money from my account in the negatives and added that charge against me. That would be a valid excuse had it not been for the fact that in the past when I had automatic payments with [redacted] and other businesses, whenever my account was too low on funds the bank declined every transaction. I attempted to call [redacted] and ask for a refund and was denied they stated that this would be a problem that needs to be taken up with the bank.Desired SettlementI would like this matter to be solved in the following ways . People's bank is to contact the collection agency and drop the charges against me that were wrongfully brought up. I want this to be removed from my credit history. I will not pay them the amount why claim I owe them and last I want my account with them permanently closed .
