Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/09) */
Mr. [redacted] took out a loan on May 23, 2015 in the amount of $13,042.18 secured by a 2007 Audi A4 Quattro. His manner of repayment was not the reason for repossession of this vehicle. PEOPLES Community Credit Union's records reflect numerous...
attempts to contact Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] never responded to any attempt to get in touch with him prior to the repossession.
On Friday, October 30 at 11:45 a.m. PEOPLES Community Credit Union (PCCU) received a telephone call from a local Minneapolis car dealer. He told us he was calling as a courtesy to tell us that a 2007 Audi A4 Quattro, listing PEOPLES Community Credit Union, was listed for sale on Craig's List for $3,000. The ad indicated that the car had no title and could be sold for a track car or parts. The dealer had identified PCCU as a lien holder by the license plate number in the photo. The dealer called PEOPLES Community Credit Union to inquire about the lien holder status and the title.
PCCU reviewed the [redacted] auto loan file. This particular loan is a GPS Fresh Start Sub Prime Auto Loan equipped with a starter interrupt unit installed. The GPS unit allows PCCU the ability car to locate the collateral. Any vehicle equipped with this GPS unit will automatically shut off if the loan is 10 or more days past due.
Closer inspection revealed that Mr. [redacted]'s 2007 Audi A4 Quattro vehicle was listed on our "Missed Auto" report since October 21st, 2015. Automobiles listed on the "Missed Auto" report are vehicles that indicate the GPS unit install in the vehicle is not functioning.
Because the vehicle was listed as a "Missed Auto" and we received the telephone call from the local dealer informing us that Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle was listed for sale without a title we made arrangements to gain possession of the vehicle.
Upon closer inspection we found that the GPS unit had indeed been removed from the 2007 Audi A4 Quattro vehicle. A violation of the loan terms.
Mr. [redacted] will be held responsible for the loss of the GPS unit and the balance of the loan. We will contact our attorney to seek reimbursement from Mr. [redacted] thru the Minnesota court system.
Mr. [redacted] is welcome to contact the PEOPLES Community Credit Union to make arrangements for repayment of his loan at any time.
