Received letter in mail where my debit card had been compromised. This was the 3rd time my account had been compromised. Called to ask if they could tell me when and where it was compromised and they said they did not know any information on. They gave me card phone number who transferred me back to them. Like anyone would be, I was mad and worried that my card had yet again been compromised. Finally after no body could give me an answer or seemed to care in the least they transferred me to a man that said he was the vice president ( Mark) who was arrogant and condescending who also could only say they were not responsible and could not divulge any. Information. I was aggravated and ended up hanging up on him. The letter they sent us said we could use our card until another one came in another 2 weeks. So I went to the atm at the bank as I had no cash money and the machine took my card and the print out said to contact bank. So I will have to take time out of a workday to go in and see if it was a mistake or if they closed my account with out telling me..
Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I would give Peoples Bank no stars if I could. I had an auto loan with Peoples and had a period during which I had spinal and neck surgeries, so I had a few late payments. The loan was caught up and I went to pay it off, but what should I find? Over $400 in late fees and a $100 repossession fee when the vehicle was never repossessed. I tried to call about the fees and left two messages with the VP and got no return calls. After the payoff date at the end of May which showed a payoff of $1,067, a payment of $368.38 was made. On June 10th I received a total balance due of $607.47 plus 14 cents per day after. When I finally got through to someone at the bank on June 18, 2019, I was told my payoff if made on June 23rd is now $708.76! I asked them to consider crediting some of these fees and they absolutely refused - no consideration at all and no explanation for more and more charges! NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. IN MY OPINION AND FROM MY EXPERIENCE, THEY ARE PREDATORS!
To whom this may concern;
In March of 2018 I went to People’s Bank in Sabina, Ohio to apply for a loan to PURCHASE a car from my mother. This was the first time I ever purchased a car via financing. Moreover, I was approved for a loan with my mother listed as a co-signer.
I received a payment book in my name and made the required payments for the last 10 months. I have since discovered that the title of ownership was never assigned to me, my mother was left on the title as the original sole owner, not as a co-signer. My mother has since took possession of the car. She has refuses to return the vehicle to me, until the matter is corrected. When financing, I was assured by the loan officer they would be transferring the title, as this is standard practice.
This owner assignment error by the Bank, has now cost me my job, as I do not have transportation, to and from work. It has cost me the $318.00 payment, that I have paid for the past 10 months. My credit is now damaged, and I do not have the luxury of transportation, to get another job.
I acted in good faith regarding the loan and I feel that the bank took advantage of me. I called the local branch and spoke with *** on Monday 3/18/19 and she told me nothing could be done! I have made several attempts to contact the Corporate office of the bank, and am repeatedly sent to the voicemail of a ***, with no response.
My first loan experience has turned out to be a devastating ordeal. I am facing devastation, both financially and emotionally over this matter.
Any help you could offer me at this time would be greatly appreciated. I have no where else to turn.
Please Help
Peoples Bank acknowledges receipt of *** The complaint is under review and we anticipate having a response no later than Friday, April 5, 2019.
On March 25, 2019, Peoples Bank received the above referenced complaint dated March 24, 2019.The complaint is related to a Consumer Loan in which co-borrowers signed a Promissory Note ("Note") and Consumer Security Agreement ("Security Agreement") on April 19, 2018, (collectively the "Loan"). The Complainant, who is one of the borrowers, states that the title to the property held under the Security Agreement (the "Collateral") is titled solely in the name of the other co-borrower, who has possession of the Collateral and will not release it to the Complainant, although Complainant is making the Loan payments. The Complainant's desired resolution is that all payments and associated fees paid by the Complainant be returned to him and that the Loan be "forgiven".
Peoples Bank communicated with the Complainant regarding this situation when he contacted Peoples Bank on March 25, 2019 and spoke with our Consumer Credit Manager and our Loan Operations Manager (hereinafter "Peoples' Representatives"). The Complainant stated at that time that the additional co-borrower would not release the Collateral to him until her name was removed from the Loan and / or title to the Collateral.
Peoples' Representatives have advised the Complaint that: (1) in order to "remove" the co-borrower from the Loan, the Complainant will need to refinance the loan in his name, as a sole borrower; or (2) in order to add the Complainant on the title the co-borrowers will need to contact our retail branch and submit a change in terms modification and execute a power of attorney form, granting Peoples the authority to add the Complainant to the title. Peoples Bank cannot act unilaterally to transfer the title, but would not object to such transfer.
At this time, both borrowers are obligated under the Loan. Peoples does not intend to refund fees applied to the Loan or forgive the debit.
Respectfully,***Senior Vice President, Consumer Lending
If I could give this Branch and it's Manager, April P and Assistant Manager, Angela G, less than one star, I would. My mother, who has Alzheimer's, banks at this branch, and these two employees have continually overstepped their roles as bank employees.
They have not given my mother logical advice for investing her money. They advised her to deposit all of her money, other than $800, into CDs, and suggested to me that if she had an emergency, all she had to do was come to the branch and sign and incur a penalty. If there is an emergency, she might not be able to come in the branch and sign.
I am my mother's Financial POA, and I asked the employees at this branch to please call me before my mom attempted to make any major changes. They never did. When a person has Alzheimer's, they sometimes make decisions that are not in their best interest, and if I am able to explain to my mother why or why not she should do something, she always agrees. This bank did not give me that option as POA. The Manager, April P, actually suggested that my mother make my brother POA, who we had to threaten to take to court to gain access to her money when he was POA. It was completely inappropriate for her to suggest this.
Furthermore, Angela G, Assistant Manager, suggested that I have my mother declared incompetent, which she is not. She then tried to deny that she suggested this until I clearly proved that she did. My mother is not incompetent, and this is a terrible process to put a person through, and again, completely inappropriate for a bank employee to suggest.
My mother withdrew all her money from Peoples Bank this past week, which is a significant amount. I am relieved that her new bank seems to understand her condition and is more than willing to help her and respect me as her POA.
Hate the way this bank works the past year cash deposits take 3-5 days to clear when they used to clear the following day. It is a pain when you deposit money then you got a bill due within the next couple days and you can’t pay it cause the money hasn’t cleared.
Deposits made at a Peoples Bank ATM are typically made available to the customer on the first business day after the business day of the deposit. This was the case with the customer who provided the review comment.
